. . . meh? I mean, yeah, it's not bad, but isn't 1200 kind of steep for that? There's not a lot of CAS items (although some of the dresses are nice), and there's not a lot of furniture. Some items individually do stand out for me, the set as a whole? Ehh . . .

I agree, I think it's way too overpriced. Even on sale.

Oh wow, it is rather lacking. Only two build items?! And the buy items are not especially well thought out - I could probably recolour other items I have already to the same effect. I might be interested in a few of the clothes, but unless I use dresser mod, I don't think I could stop other sims from dressing out-of-character for a medieval theme anyway.

25 items for 1200 is 48 simpoints per item.  Considering only one of these items is 25 points and another is 50 that's not actually bad.  These are standard prices for EA store items.   Saying this is overpriced means you think the whole store is overpriced.   There's really no reason to say that on every thread we make containing store items.

Please remember forum policy and remember to keep your tone appropriate even if you are unhappy with the items.   You don't have to post if you are just going to complain about it.

I get what your saying, but the most of the other store sets (Well in my opinion) are more detailed than these. These (In my opinion) are just bland. As for my tone, I'm not gonna love every store set they release, and there are tons more that I can choose from that are great. So, it's not really that bad. And if I'm bothering anyone, than I'll stop. I don't want to bother people.  :(

I apologize though, if I sounded inapropriate, that wasn't my intention.  :(

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for adding more detail in my first post Rica, I really appreciate it.  :D

Double Edit: I'll remove my post that sounded negative since it's bothering people.

I'm not trying to say that the store is overpriced, and I'm sorry if it came out that way. What bothers me isn't the price (50 points per item is VERY reasonable for me), but the items they're trying to sell me for the price. Even if it was pricier, if it was filled with items that I really liked, I wouldn't have a problem. There have been past sets that have wowed me into buying when it was brand new (the Mediterranean Wedding set, for one), this just isn't one of them. And like I said, I do like some of the dresses, and will probably buy them separately, or wait until the set goes on daily deal or the Sale page, or something (and this isn't exclusive to just the Sims, I'm a bit of a tight-wad with everything).

A) I saw "Tutor of Tudors" and thought Yay, they're finally making a homeschooling thing! I was wrong.

B) I must have that little girl princess dress.

Ooh, now this is lovely. I can't see myself purchasing the whole set, but I am eyeing a few of the individual clothing items. It is a shame, though, that there are no hairstyles to come with it. I would have loved to see a male hairstyle with a crown.

It's got quite a bit of nice clothing - but I may buy them individually some day.

*screams in excitement*

I've been utterly obsessed with the Tudors since I was about 7 so this is SO perfect for me! I just can't wait to recreate the entire Tudor family in those clothes and build them a castle :D

So happy that someone else shared my response. Queen Elizabeth I and her family was a total obsession of mine for third and fourth grade---- I still know the name of her Nanny. (:
I must say I was a bit underwhelmed with the hair, but the dresses are wonderful. (And historically accurate  :P)

This is a old topic. My reply is not all that wonderful, so it's okay if no one notices it. I just gotta say, we got this set, and I just created my first Tudor family. Yes, I find them fascinating!

I am disappointed that there are no hats and hair, though. Using the Versailles hair is not really okay with me (more than 200 years difference?), and of course I am disappointed with the shoes. Rococo I was looking for high red-colored heels for the men (they didn't wear boots in palaces! come on...) but for Tudor, you've got these great Renaissance hats for men and women, real fantastic stuff, coifs for married women, who knows what kind of shoes, maybe pointed toes?....and nothing. Not one foot or head item. Oh well. We do the best we can.

The outfits are cool and fun. They are fun to recolor. And the characters such as Elizabeth, Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, the notorious Henry 8 and Bloody Mary...and many more. Prince and Pauper anyone? So, overall I'm pleased.

More on the Tudors, since I'm playing them now...

I'm not sure about a column even being an appropriate building element for them, although I do like the sumptuous red and gold trim simply for its gorgeosity (not a word). That's cool regardless of period.

But the Gothic style window, while it certainly existed during the Tudor's reigns, is again a little culturally jarring. Henry decommissioned and tore down monasteries and churches, and executed clergy, as did his daughters (one fer the RCs and one agin them). The oriel window, a kind of bay window style, would have been better suited. I remember having one of those in Sims 1 that I could clap onto any wall and create both an outdoor effect and an indoor storage surface. Wish EA had done that instead.

Tudors didn't really build any cathedrals as far as I know, and I found two castles: Richmond and Hampton Court. hey were more the country house types as I recall the history. They "progressed" with their entourages from house to house, not spending too much time in any one of those huge, unheated castles with no indoor plumbing. Brick construction and half-timbering are Tudor hallmarks.

But speaking of columns and building, Sims 1 had some great columns. You could build aqueducts--so cool. and those gray stone columns with the fluted tops, could could put them everywhere. They were great looking. It was so much easier to build in Sims 1. I remember those many "half-timbered" wall-styles from Sims1, and the stone and timber wall patterns, such as "Lancaster" and "York."

Collateral benefit: I'm looking into history on Wikipedia, so I feel like the day is not wasted. Look at those brick chimneys (picture from Wikipedia of Hampton Court)! "Over the entrance of Compton Manor the Royal Arms of England are supported by the dragon and greyhound of Henry VII and Henry VIII." (quote from Wikipedia about Compton House)wow.
