Can someone explain "simport" to me

I'm making a new topic on this.  I'm sorry I posted a different question and topic in response to the kitchen secrets question.

I was told by Ricalynn that the only way to have another sim in my world is through "simport".  I was wondering what simport means and how that works.  Thank you.

After Showtime release, we were able to send a sim to another members game by the way of Simport.  You have to be logged into your sims3 account, prior to playing your game.  If you have a performer in your  game, you can request a performer to come to your town, from another members game or you can send one from your own game.  While in game, you go the three dots in bottom left and click on players wall and it should take you have an option to send or if someone has sent you a request, that will also be in there.  You just hit "accept".  It does, however take a few minutes for the game to send or for you to receive a sim, but you will get a message when it is finished.  I hope I explained that right and it answered your question.

Thank you for explaining this to me.  Yes I understand.  Maybe someday when I get the showtime expansion I can  look into simport.

Don't expect to be able to interact with your Sim while they've ported to another town.  You don't see them till they come home again.  When you've gotten a Sim into your town from someone else, you can watch their performance but can't interact with them.  Simport sends them home again.
