Sims 3 Store World - Dragon Valley

I am concerned that SimGuruSmitty is not aware of the error.  I've been looking at the forums on the lot and it doesn't seem like the problem has been reported ...

Edit to add: Ok so I've tested the lot in Lunar Lakes.  You know how normally the seasons you get one day off in the beginning while the game thinks about starting the new festival?   You don't get that with this lot.   The only way to make the big icon with a tent appear was to change the designation to Festival Grounds from Big Park.   Is the big tent icon the only thing we were looking for?   I mean if it's not going to give me an announcement I might be able to live with it. 

Second edit:  As far as I can tell it's never going to give us an announcement because there is no construction phase given to the lot.   This means there is no Lot for the game to go to when the seasons change.  It will just auto change from one season to another.   I don't know what this will mean for townies that work the stands though.


Solution:  To make it work - make sure that it's a festival grounds lot after placed.

God I was so waiting for this! I wanted to have a violin for ages (for my sims of course) and I get the archery too! This is just too good to be true!

Is this thread the place to post things you are doing in DV and maybe a few screenies?  I'll post some pics tomorrow if it's ok.

I've been working on the athletic building, (Novices Tournament Tent), and the area around it.  Placed my festival lot, Larifari's festival, (which is gorgeous), I think six lots in all ranging from 64x64 to 40x40 and have covered more than I really needed in that area.  I'll have to take out the fantasy trees but I'd already built a lot of things for my remake of BB so except for placing the lots it was easy.  I'm trying to keep most of the supernatural stuff in that area and so far I have Esmeralda's Elixir Consignment Shop, (Larifari again), the Arboretum and Vault of Antiquity, Varg's, a big park with broom racing things in it, remade Jolly Boat Plaza for my performance park, the outdoor street market that came out with MV, the fair thing for DV, (sorry, bad short term memory), and the festival park.  Phew!  To make it seem like there are "roads", I'm using the wall things to kind of delineate them.  So far it's looking good I think.

It was fun building a place for jousters to joust behind the athletic building, (which I had to reorient).  Even has pavilions for the knights.

If they are buildings you are remodelling or building from scratch then you should post them in the Showboat Thread, it would be best that the pictures in this thread were of the world you get when you buy it rather than a modified version. I would say pictures of your Sim exploring the world, or using the new content (I.e. Dragons) are fine for this thread though.

Ok, Tom.  Was just thinking the layout of all those buildings in that area would solve the, "no room for lots" thing I've heard.  Will post on the showboat thread.  Ok to post a link here?

EDIT:  Thank you Tom for the ok to post a link.  However, my pc is dead and gone.  All my data the same at the moment, though I'm told we may be able to pull most of my stuff off the old motherboard which was removed prior to it's demise.  That won't include the things I was doing in DV though so sorry folks.  I am on a borrowed computer and am really going nuts without my Sims!

There are 22 empty lots.   There are quite a few places to place more if you have to.

Two DV things -
1. I found a dragon egg under the O'Connell house, under the front steps there's an archway.  Go through it and wind around to find an egg.  Also found one on the top floor of the tavern, I think it's called "McCafferty's."

2.  I placed SimGuruSmitty's festival lot and changed it from "Big Park" to "Festival Lot."  So far I have played Summer and almost all of Fall.  I get the big tent icon in Map View and it has Townies working the food stands.  Only thing different from other festivals is the lack of pop-up when the festival opens.

No.  Soon all townies lists will only be in one thread and that is the one that Dragon Valley is currently in.    That thread shouldn't be locked so if anyone has any questions they can ask there.  It's a work in progress.

I'm so glad that they decided not to automatically add the other expansion lots to Dragon Valley.

I'm not very good at building, so here's what I've done:

At the Duke of Bows venue, I took out the picnic tables under the little tents and put in counters with the elixir shop register, the consignment shop register, and the nectary register. I also took out a couple of the weapon stands and put in the vegetable stands from the Al Fresco venue.

Rather than add the Dragon Valley Festival Grounds, I decided to use the one at the Performance Park in Starlight Shores. I wanted the Performance Park for acrobats and magicians anyway, so figured this would kill two birds with one stone. It's a little glitzy for Dragon Valley, but I can change decorations if I want. (Actually, three birds -- I now have a place that people can Simport to).

I added the Equestrian Center to one of the 64 x 64 lots, and might add the training grounds to another.

For anyone who might have missed the announcement, Carl's Guides now has it's very own Dragon Valley Guide showing pictures of the town, residents, locations of collectibles and of course a baby dragon picture or two.

Is it sad that I want Dragon Valley more for the The Mithrilen Household than the dragons or anything else?  I would so play them just to fill the town with more Drow.  I'll just have to tinker with the skin tone slides to get the right color.  And for the hopefully few that don't know, Drow are dark elves...though they do usually have white hair instead of blue.

I just found three dragon eggs at the library.  There's a hidden set of stairs near the back entrance and there's a room two floors underground.  That's where the three eggs can be found.  My Sim visited the library and went straight to an egg on her own!
