Sims 3 Store World - Dragon Valley

For anyone who is reading this.  Remember the last false start they had when Dragon Valley was available on the store?   Downloading the one that is currently available before the date it is supposed to be released could be detrimental to your game.    There has been no words from officials on this and they could pull exactly what they pulled last time this happened.

I'll be waiting to August 6th to buy it then. Seems crazy that they would do that, from a financial perspective, but I suppose that's why they are EA, and I'm just an accountant.

We've been expecting this world to be released tomorrow, May 30.  After reading that some people had already downloaded it, I decided to take a look at the Dragon Valley store page.  The release date is now showing as May 31 (Friday) instead of tomorrow.

There is a law that says if you're going to sell for real money it can't be available for non currency or something like that.  Simpoints aren't a recognized currency so they can never sell it for simpoints.   They had a lot of issues with Barnacle Bay originally being Simpoint purchase and now it's not.


Thanks Schip.  I was just about to mention that.    I'm still awaiting a tweet or announcement to come from a Guru soon saying those that got DV are in trouble from some sort of technical stance, like they did last time.  I expect the date change is because the store will automatically allow it to be purchased on the 30th or was supposed to but it did it for the wrong time zone like say.. Australia or New Zealand?  So that's why it was available long before it was supposed to be.  Just a guess though.   I don't think they really mean the 31st.

Okay update from the AEST time zone.  It shows as available on the store and you can buy it.  But it won't download when you click the button to download.  It shows up as 1900 Sims points purchased and the world as 'free' in your purchase history but it just doesn't download in the launcher.  So I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in the USA first.

I'm told that it's no longer able to be purchased at all.  Not even for those that could see it before.   Still no word from EA that I can tell.

It's now showing up in the Store as available 1-June-2013 when you change the country flag in the header from USA to Australia.  Two more days!!!  Oh well c'est le vie!

If they sell Visa Gift Cards in Australia, you can use one of those instead of your actual credit card. That's what I've been doing.

Since there have not been any notes to come out about not installing this content.   I did it in a factory reset folder as to not corrupt my dynasty saves.

For §395 you can buy a dragon egg and place it anywhere in your home.   



Once you interact with the egg for the first time, you have 6 hours until it hatches.   Talking about Fire gave me a red dragon.  Talking about Friends gave me the purple dragon.  Talking about the Weather gave me the green dragon. 



I am currently working on the resident's list but will probably stop soon to go to bed and finish it first thing in the morning.  I have most of the town done already but there is formatting on the official thread and all that. 

If anyone wants any pictures while I'm hopping between families, feel free to ask just don't clutter the thread too much.  I still don't have the venue because it's not available on the website.

I don't know where you are from, but in the US I've found EA cards at Target stores. Each one is $20 and you can use them in the Sims Store as cash.

I'm not happy that it is now coming out on May  31.     I was really looking forward to it tomorrow, and it's disappointing to have to wait one more day.  I know, it's just one more day, but still.

I'm sorry yours is not working.  My world is working fine but I don't have the venue.  That might be what's going to be available on 1 June.  The world obviously works for Ricalynn so it must be available wherever she is too.  I love this new world so far but I am dismayed that there are not enough big vacant lots or spaces where the 64 x 64 lots can be easily placed which connects to a road.

   I went to the store to buy the game and it states it will be released tomorrow. 

How are others getting it today?  I know that there seemed to be a mix-up from reading here, but I thought that it was still going to be available on the 30th, not the 31st. 
Tomorrow is another day for spring cleaning, I have to have hubby's help due to health/mobility problems.   Now I can't spend today playing and that has me well . . .
