I read all of the Pern books last year, and I think it's time for a re-read. I do remember that most of the dragons were metallic, not colorful.

There was Red, Gold, Bronze, I think brown or blue and a white one (who had his own story), Its been a long time since I read them.

I like to look at the dragons in the Dungeons and Dragons idea, since it is "medieval" town and such.  Of course the long and short of it is, doesn't matter if they are D&D Dragons or Pern dragons, there are dragons which is AWESOME!

Pern had green dragons, not red ones. The greens and golds were females, bronze, brown, and blue males. Plus the one weird white one, yeah.

PDT stands for Pacific Daylight Time.  That's the time zone of the West Coast of the U.S.

I have to point out that TECHNICALLY these guys are all wyverns, which are four-limbed dragons whose body structure is much like a bat or bird, in which their wings are their forelimbs. They're considered a sub-species or related species. Most proper Western dragons are six-limbed, with their wings like a separate pair of arms.

BUT that is not a complaint - just a technicality. I still love the look of these little guys and can't wait to play with them!

Very interesting, Sutz.  I didn't know about wyverns, nor about Western dragons having six limbs.  The Pern dragons have six limbs because creatures indigenous to the planet have six limbs as opposed to Earth's creatures having four.  Now I need to go research wyverns.

I agree totally. I have found though lately that the wyvern type dragon shape is becoming more popular - for example in game of thrones. I've heard that people just don't like the 6 limbed dragon - it's too impossible or something. I think it makes more sense to have 6 limbs, but I'll settle for these ones

Dragons, to me, always have six limbs. Wings, forearms/forelegs, and hind legs. I just cannot imagine a dragon not having forearms, even if they are very tiny ones.

All vertebrates have four limbs. Pterodactyls were reptiles, so they were like... bats crossed with dinos or something. They were awesome. The largest had a twelve-meter wingspan and a body bigger than a man's. Real-life dragons!

I'm anxiously waiting for the Live Broadcast today . So far everything I've seen of this new world looks fantastic . It should be a fun world to play in . I just wonder what they haven't showed us yet . I'm sure we won't be disappointed .
