Root folder isn't there?
« on: April 12, 2013, 02:12:46 PM »
I decided to switch to pc, and when I installed The Sims, I couldn't find the root folder or the game. I know where the root folder is supposed to be, but it's not there, and I'm not sure where to find the game. I know it installed because I found the contents thing. Please help me :(

Do you mean the root of the game folder, in your Documents?

As a stupid question, did you ever start the game? The folder won't be created until the game is started.

Oh, oops  I didn't start the game! But the thing is, I CAN'T open the game, I can't find the game anywhere so that I can play.

Do you use origin or physical discs? If you use origin you can start the game using their launcher.

When you say switched to PC do you mean like you have a PC side of a Mac or you're on a completely different computer?

When you installed, did you custom it or have it automatically go to Program Files like it's supposed to?   Have you thought of uninstalling the last expansion and reinstalling it while allowing it to create a shortcut on your desktop?

Completely different computer. When  I installed, I had go automatically to program files. I didn't install any EPs, just the base game and I wanted to make sure it worked before I installed all my EPs and SPs.

Hi, EllaTheTaco.

It sounds like maybe the game didn't install correctly. Check to see if The Sims 3 shows up in you list of installed programs (in Windows 7 it's at Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program). If it is, see if you can uninstall it. If not, try re-installing the game.

Hope this helps and happy Simming. :)
