Week One, Day FiveIt is my fourth day as Mrs Olympian, the fifth day of my dynasty, and things are off to a good start. On the first day of our marriage Christopher told me honestly that, while he thought I looked stunning in my dress, long white gowns were really only used for wedding nowadays. So we went out and both of us bought some new clothes.
Christopher has begun work as a painter, soon he will be able to paint my young adult portrait. It will have to be very soon, as I only have nine days left until I age to adult. Hopefully his paintings will soon earn us some good money too. We want to wait until we have sufficient funds before bringing in the next generation.
Christopher didn’t want to give up his fishing though, so with the little money we have I bought him a MultiTab 6000, so he can continue to build his skill without taking time away from his painting. It really shows how much the world has changed. Skills, all built into a tiny square. Amazing.
I spent my second day here at the local library, skilling up on gardening and meeting the locals.
Now I have a small garden behind the house, which will hopefully begin to bring in some money soon.
I’m trying not to worry too much and to focus on my gardening. It’s paying off as well. Today I managed to master the gardening skill and complete one of the skill challenges. I also went dumpster diving to see if I could find anything to sell.
I was fairly unsuccessful. However I gained influence in something called a Rebel Social Group, which I was rather excited about. The Rebels are not the only Social Group in this new world either. There’s the Jock Group and the Nerd Group as well. There are also people who are called “celebrities”. I gained one celebrity star by giving some great harvests to a local celebrity. According to Christopher, this means I’m on my way to become very well-known and might have people called Paparazzi taking pictures of me. I’m not sure how I feel about this yet, it’s all very strange.
There is only one thing that mars my happiness at the moment; I can’t help but feel terrible about the young woman I was supposed to ask to move in with me. I was talking to Christopher about her, and he guessed I meant Agnes Crumplebottom. She’s a quiet widow, who lives in a large house all alone. She hardly ever goes out and rarely talks to anyone, preferring her own company.
I know her pain, for I have lost four of my family, and to think that I could ease that pain but won’t is a heavy burden to bear. How can I though? Should I ask her to give up her life for me? Ask her to move in with a young couple in love, who have little time for anyone but each other? Would that really be any better?
AN: I know posts are quite short at the moment, but I've played ahead and things have started happening so hopefully they'll be longer soon. Also, does anyone have any tips on supermaxing skills quickly? I've supermaxed gardening lots of times, but Demeter only had 14 days as a young adult instead of the normal 20, so I'm struggling to get it done.
