The Olympian Immortal Dynasty - Failed, graveyard please
« on: April 10, 2013, 03:42:39 AM »
After reading some amazing Immortal Dynasty stories, I've decided to try my own.  :)

The Olympian Immortal Dynasty

At one time, Gods and Goddesses walked the earth with the sims, free to do as they pleased. The mightiest of all of these were the Olympian family. The twelve of them were in charge of all the rest, it was their job to make sure they caused no major trouble. They failed. Rebellion was sudden and destroying. War broke out. After four of their own were killed, the Olympians had no choice but to banish all Gods and Goddesses from the earth.

Hundreds of years later, the remaining eight held council one more time.

It was decided that one Olympian would go to earth and bring back seven of the almighty race. But there was a catch. Each God or Goddess brought to earth must prove their worth by completing eight tasks in one human lifetime, only then would they be allowed to become immortal. They would also have one job to continue until all eight generations were immortal. When the eighth generation ate ambrosia their final purpose would be achieved and all Gods and Goddesses would be allowed to go back to earth. To be sure each completed all eight tasks, their progress would be recorded in a diary.

There was much talking, much arguing. Who would be the first to go down?

Finally it was agreed. I am Demeter Olympian, founder of the Olympian Immortal Dynasty.

Welcome Demeter! It makes me think of my very first dynasty, where the gen 2's twin was called Demeter!

Good luck!

Demeter is very pretty! She reminds me of my aunt. A very creative start! I doubt I could have come up with that!

You've probably guessed right, the supermax skills will be related to the Gods/Goddesses :P

Week One, Day One

I moved to Sunset Valley today, onto a lot at the edge of town. It’s very big, big enough to build a house for eight immortals. However it took most of my funds to buy, and I’m left with barely enough to live on. I have known all along that I wouldn’t be able to do this alone, but it hit me then. I needed a helper, a friend, somebody completely committed to me and my task.

Before I arrived in Sunset Valley I was told of a young woman who had helped many founders just like me. She had some painting skill already, and was very rich. I began to walk to her house, but on the way I saw a man standing outside his house, as if he was waiting for me.

The connection was instant and powerful. Before I knew what was happening, I was introducing myself to him. I forgot all about the woman I was supposed to be finding, forgot about everything except Christopher Steel. We talked non-stop all day, becoming best friends before evening.

When he asked where I was living, I was unable to stop myself telling him. I told him that I had no home, nothing at all, then took him to my lot. There, I admitted everything to him. Told him I was a Goddess, sent to earth to complete a task that would span eight generations. I expected him to leave, but he didn’t. He just kissed me.

Then he invited me to move in with him, because he couldn’t bear the thought of me living alone on this empty lot. I couldn’t of course, but I knew then he was the one I wanted to share this life with. We exchanged rings right there, not caring how goofy we looked.

Christopher brought in just enough money to build a tiny house. More like a box really.

But we don’t need riches, we have each other, and that’s enough for now.

Christopher is always so eager to join in a dynasty. I like that he was practically waiting around for your founder to bump into him! Good luck with your dynasty!

Yep, I'm trying to supermax gardening :)

They all do seem to have strange noses. I think the only potential problem with Chris is his lips, they sometimes look weird on children.

Week One, Day Five

It is my fourth day as Mrs Olympian, the fifth day of my dynasty, and things are off to a good start. On the first day of our marriage Christopher told me honestly that, while he thought I looked stunning in my dress, long white gowns were really only used for wedding nowadays. So we went out and both of us bought some new clothes.

Christopher has begun work as a painter, soon he will be able to paint my young adult portrait. It will have to be very soon, as I only have nine days left until I age to adult. Hopefully his paintings will soon earn us some good money too. We want to wait until we have sufficient funds before bringing in the next generation.

Christopher didn’t want to give up his fishing though, so with the little money we have I bought him a MultiTab 6000, so he can continue to build his skill without taking time away from his painting. It really shows how much the world has changed. Skills, all built into a tiny square. Amazing.

I spent my second day here at the local library, skilling up on gardening and meeting the locals.

Now I have a small garden behind the house, which will hopefully begin to bring in some money soon.

I’m trying not to worry too much and to focus on my gardening. It’s paying off as well. Today I managed to master the gardening skill and complete one of the skill challenges. I also went dumpster diving to see if I could find anything to sell.

I was fairly unsuccessful. However I gained influence in something called a Rebel Social Group, which I was rather excited about. The Rebels are not the only Social Group in this new world either. There’s the Jock Group and the Nerd Group as well. There are also people who are called “celebrities”. I gained one celebrity star by giving some great harvests to a local celebrity. According to Christopher, this means I’m on my way to become very well-known and might have people called Paparazzi taking pictures of me. I’m not sure how I feel about this yet, it’s all very strange.

There is only one thing that mars my happiness at the moment; I can’t help but feel terrible about the young woman I was supposed to ask to move in with me. I was talking to Christopher about her, and he guessed I meant Agnes Crumplebottom. She’s a quiet widow, who lives in a large house all alone. She hardly ever goes out and rarely talks to anyone, preferring her own company.
I know her pain, for I have lost four of my family, and to think that I could ease that pain but won’t is a heavy burden to bear. How can I though? Should I ask her to give up her life for me? Ask her to move in with a young couple in love, who have little time for anyone but each other? Would that really be any better?

AN: I know posts are quite short at the moment, but I've played ahead and things have started happening so hopefully they'll be longer soon. Also, does anyone have any tips on supermaxing skills quickly? I've supermaxed gardening lots of times, but Demeter only had 14 days as a young adult instead of the normal 20, so I'm struggling to get it done.

I can't see any of the pictures in your most recent chapter.

EDIT: Ah, yes, that's fixed them. Great makeovers! Don't worry about the chapters being short. Sometimes it's nice to get lots of little updates, rather than wait for huge ones  :)
