Mail Box Error

I'm working on a Legacy challenge, generation 4 was just born, and my lovely heir to be got the distant relative message indicating there should be an imaginary friend in the mailbox, except I can't get anything out of the mailbox. I've searched all over for a bug fix and tried moveobjects on to try to duplicate the Mailbox to fix it with no luck, the box won't dulpicate. If I move the family out and back (which may or may not work, The attempt is failed anyhow). I don't have an old save to go back to (The last dulplicate save I did, already had the issue, because no one has had bills since gen one) books and IF's are the only thing other than love letters that come in so I didn't check it often enough. Now everytime I click "get mail" the sim takes out the package and resets to a new spot (usually just a couple feet away). Unless I can figure out how to reset that box, this attempt is over, because there is no way to receive the IF's.

There may not be anything that can be done.  I had mail box problems not long ago and there was no solution other than moving to another lot, and that won't work for you in a legacy.  The invisible friend doll would also probably be lost in the transfer.

I'm not really familiar with Legacy challenge rules, but what if you were to evict or save the family with home. Then place them right back where they were. Would that maybe help and if so, would this be allowed?

Something you could try to test it out, is save the game file with a different name - for example LegacyTest. Then load that game up and evict or save the family with home and then place them back into their lot to see if the mailbox will work.

:( Denied - I save a duplicate to play with (so I didn't shoot myself in the foot again), also even if this didn't work for a legacy it may work for a standard game. Tried saving the family to the bin and replacing them with their house back in to the game, the IF doesn't show up, all the generation portraits disappear, school grades reset for the other older kids buuut if you are not playing a challenge where these things matter it did reset the mailbox. I will be scrapping this effort and starting from scratch, this was if nothing else a learning experience.

Odd, I got sent a gift from a friend and just can't accept it... Is it to do with new patch perhaps?
