Paintings disappear when placing

Hello,

My sim has several paintings that he made himself in his inventory. When I want to place them on the wall they disappear. Just when I let go of my mouse button. They aren't misplaced, like on the other side of the wall or somewhere else and neither back in the inventory.
It happens both when pausing and at normal speed.

With cheats on like testingcheats and moveobjects it happens too.

It never did this before.

This is a very common and old bug. Placing paintings directly from the easel in either Live or Buy Mode is usually a lot safer.

I don't know how to recover already lost paintings, though.

Sometimes even if it looks like it disappeared it will reappear if you switch into buy or build mode and then back again.  Sometimes.
