Texture/Picture/Item issue?

So, I had to restore my computer and just got around to reinstalling my sims a few days ago. However, when I go into the game, some of the pictures are messed up for items and sims.



That weird texture appears for random items, some sim pictures, and even some items in the task bar.

Anyone having this issue? Anyone know how to fix it? Before I restored the computer, everything ran fine. The only thing different I did this time was installing all the games through Origin. I also have one mod, which is the overwatch mod. Without it, my game freezes and crashes every few minutes.

Have you tried deleting the .package files inside the Thumbnails folder?

I have. I tried turning down my graphics, deleting all the cache files, thumbnails, etc.

I am also having this difficulty with my game.  I have reinstalled using my disks, reinstalled using my downloads from origin only, updated my drivers, rolled back my drivers, deleted my caches, and several other things.    This is the first time I have seen this exact problem listed (after numerous searches) and would like to know if anyone has any ideas.  I first noticed this problem a couple of weeks ago when I reinstalled sims after not playing for awhile. I have most of the stuff packs and all the expansions but this happens even when I only install the base game.  I checked out my specs and all of my hardware exceeds minimum requirements.

Alright, so I discovered if I didn't install the patch 1.5 with the base game this glitch does not show up.  Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to install any expansions without patching. Hmmm...

So, you're having the same problem? As bad as this sounds, that makes me feel a little better. You're the first person I've found that is having the same issue as me.

Hmm. That's strange about the patch. I had installed the 1.5 patch right before I had to restore my computer and didn't have this problem. How long had it been since you played? Had multiple patches come out from the last time till the time you patched? Also, what OS are you running? I'm running XP, while I was running Vista before.

I know it makes me feel better too.  I had looked all over and this was the first time I saw someone else with the same problem.

It had been about a year since I had last played probably (around January of 2012).  I am running on windows XP and have an ATI Radeon 4800 graphics card.

Maybe it does have something to do with multiple patches being done at one time? As I said, I was up to date before restoring my computer, and installed 1.5 with no problems. Now that I installed every one, I'm having problems. I may test it out later on today when I get up. I'll let you know.

I have an ATI card, as well. It's a 5400, though.

Edit: I have another question for you. Are your games physical copies? If so, did you install them manually or through origin?

I have tried both.  I have the physical copies nad installed that way initially.  When I started to have the problem I used origin to download (as somone told me it migh be my disk drive that was the problem.) Neither type of installation helped.

Well, that didn't work. I don't know what else to do.

So I ran Delphy's Dashboard on the actual program files Sims 3 folder.  I am not sure if it means anything but it came back with the result that 3 of the files were corrupted (and this result did not come back when I ran it before patching.) 
The corrupted files were:
     DeltaBuild0.package
     DeltaBuild_p06.package
     DeltaBuild_p02.package

It said they were a bad downlaod so I manually dowloaded the patch and reintsalled it but they still show up as bad downloads.

Do you know what items are corrupted/don't have pictures?  Are they the same items for both of you or random?

For me I know it is all books, pruduce, and seeds and around 10% of buy mode objects (the only objects I can remember specifically at the moment is the urinal)

For me, it's just random things in buy mode, sims, and sometimes things in the task bar. That's all that I know of. I really didn't check too much out.

I do know that it starts in the base game. I only reinstalled the base game and still got the problem.

Edit: I went into game and made a list.

Urinal
Recycle Bins
Random Items in Decor: Roof Accents, street grates, ac unit, etc.
Bookcase
Swingset
All Books
Almost all items at the grocery store.
Sims

I contacted EA about this problem. None of the techs via the online chat were able to help me. Now, I gotta call customer service.
