Hi, So this thread is really great and I found allot of useful things in here. Although is must be irritating having to go all the way through everything all the time. Everything needs to be in one post that's continuously edited.
To save some people time I've put everything together and headed each section.

Panel Tips
⦁ You can stretch all the panel's to the right by clicking and tugging on the five vertically aligned dots.
⦁ You can call sims on the phone by clicking their picture in the relationship panel instead of going through the phone menu.
Sim Tips
⦁ Kleptomaniac sims can steal graves from the graveyard or the Goth Manor.
⦁ Your sim doesn't actually need to answer the phone to get the opportunities that are offered over the phone. You can just ignore the call and it's only calls from other sims that are actually ignored, the opportunities still show up.
⦁ You can click on your Sim for a link to their cell phone. This is so handy instead of trying to click on their personal inventory just to make a call, answer the phone, travel or to check on their real estate.
⦁ The Grim Reaper's favorite Music will always be Classical
⦁ Witch sims can not turn other supernaturals into toads, only human sims.
⦁ You can move items from one sim's inventory to another sims's inventory by dragging the item onto the second sim's icon.
⦁ Home births gives the mother a huge relationship boost with the baby.
⦁ Can tell the gender of your baby if you go to a lvl 7 doctor.
⦁ Ghosts who eat Ambrosia are restored to life/ Amrosia also resets your current age cycle
⦁ Inventors can create time machines and potentially bring back their child from the future when they return
⦁ You can read kids to sleep / toddlers can read books on their own.
⦁ Kids can make their own food from bake ovens / checking the prices before setting up for a bake sale in the newspaper can rake in a lot of money (for a kid selling brownies).
⦁ kids can interact with each other on fun tables and block tables
⦁ You can invite up to 3 others to play video games with you
⦁ Kids can ask for help with homework from adults or do their homework with other kids
⦁ The fruits and veg in your inventory will end up in your cooking
⦁ Not all maids have the neat trait- but all butlers have handy and neat
⦁ The 'salute' option for Military people is guaranteed positive response. You can make your hated enemies your best friend with this one emote.
⦁ Using the drill invention (for getting gems) after dark in a neighborhood: really bad idea
⦁ Sims can die from ranting about Death.
Moodlet Tips
⦁ Infants, Toddlers, and Children all get a positive moodlet from sleeping with a stuffed bear in their inventory.
⦁ Putting the rubber duck on the bathtub gives the sims a positive moodlet from taking a bath with a ducky.
⦁ You can sometimes get the Divine Meal Moodlet from the bistro by chance.
⦁ The music box is a nice way to get fun and a minor music moodlet at a low price. Plus, it's portable!
⦁ Sim babies with the evil trait get the fiendishly delighted mood-let when they annoy another Sim with their crying.
⦁ Send a Sim to see there fiance's parents after proposing to get the 'Ask for hand in marriage' Social interaction. You get a moodlet depending on the answer!
⦁ Giving children firefruit will give them +5 warm moodlet
⦁ Meteor Strikes cause lots of splash damage and requires you to replace items to get rid of the 'vile surroundings' moodlet
⦁ Being faithful to your lover for a sim week will give you Faithful reputation and +10 moodlet. Push it for another sim week and it will give you Eternally Faithful reputation and +20 moodlet. The moodlet seems to stay forever as long as you keep your reputation.
Floor hygeniator information.
The floor hygeniator gives a positive moodlet, but floor hygeniators have a chance to "fail" which is when a Sim gets the nauseous moodlet. Also, a sim's traits can also conflict with the hygeniator in a way that certain scents effect Sims of specific traits. Once you get the big invention skill challenge that turns your big inventions into masterful inventions, the floor hygienators should stop giving the nauseous moodlet to anyone other than a trait/scent conflict.

Build/Buy mode and object Tips
⦁ Your sim doesn't really need to Dispose All Dead Plants, you can move or delete plants in Buy mode.
⦁ Every fish bowl has different coloured rocks and different plants in them.
⦁ Some generic objects are reused from The Sims 2, but are oftentimes renamed in the Buy catalog.
⦁ Setting fireworks off inside will cause a fire.
⦁ You can use the floor editor to colour the ceiling tiles.
⦁ The beverage maker gives you random combinations of what you can make each time you use it.
⦁ Placing a floor hygienator under a sprinkler will block Sims from playing in them.
⦁ Build with arches instead of columns, don't let in the weather.
⦁ If you take your bills out of the mail box they turn colors each day.
⦁ Day 1: White
⦁ Day 2: Yellow/Orange
⦁ Day 3: Red
⦁ On the fourth day they disappear and the repoman comes.
⦁ You can add snack bowls / desk lamps to bars
⦁ You can add desklamps to hot tubs
⦁ You can mount cut gems onto pillow beds or stands for display
⦁ Can mount various items on the mantles of fireplaces
⦁ Can add Shampoo, a moodlite and a rubber ducky to your tubs/showers to take bubblebaths
⦁ Ambrosia can be replicated if you place it onto the replicator in its unfinished form
⦁ Placing sprinklers in your garden = no more watering ever
⦁ Lobsters are the (imo) best and infinite supply of fertilizer from the grocery store
⦁ Butterflies and bugs can be collected and put into their own glass containers for display (maybe bugs too)ted and put into their own glass containers for display.
⦁ If you have pets, buy a pet toybox, take the toys out and place where you want- destroy box: Maids cant put them away and will leave items as is.
⦁ Stuff that kids get from field trips are mountable (lighted mirrors, badges, plaques, etc)
⦁ You can place windows onto pool walls, essentially looking right into the pool (from the basement)
⦁ Collecting different types of gems unlocks the types of cuts you get access to when mailing them out.
⦁ if you place a light on a wall and hold down on clicking and move down/up you can move the lights up or down the wall. Same with any other wall items.
Money making Tips
⦁ If you sell your elixers at the elixer store when it is a full moon, you will get a better price for them.
⦁ Send a female Sim to Uni, join a sorority and sell the two cars. It gives you $110k.
⦁ With Showtime, you get the genie lamp LTR. Each time you wish for fortune, you get a 100,000 simoleans! Much better than that lousy inheritance LTR! You get 30,000 with the inheritance, whereas you can get up to 300,000 with the genie! 10x more! Get rich fast!! And without cheating...
⦁ Simhenge has loads of collection items that can get you a nice tidy sum.
Phone Tips
⦁ You can cancel newspaper delivery now by using the cell phone.
⦁ If you are on a lot with the football (soccer to some) goal and click on your phone and call sim, you get an option to invite over next football (soccer) opponent.
House clean up Tips
⦁ You can drag newspapers and dirty plates to the trash can so the sim doesn't need to clean them up.
⦁ You can drag food to the refrigerator
⦁ You can drag laundry items into the basket.
⦁ Hold shift to drag more than one item at once.
Jobs and Profession Tips
⦁ If you have a profession you don't have to stay in the building during work hours. As long as you respond to clients and emergencies quickly you can do what you want during work.
⦁ Sims in the investigator career who hate the outdoors can burn insects with their magnifying glass, making them explode and boosting their fun level
⦁ People who live with sims in the Athletic field get to go to all Sunday games for free.
⦁ Sims in the Criminal profession never get robbed.
⦁ The reward for lev 10 chef is a Kelvinator fridge that never lets food spoil
⦁ Sims in the ghost hunter career can click on tombstones and have the interaction to "subdue spirits." A little ghost comes out and your Sim will talk to it for a little while, then it will fly back into the ground. Then the interaction disappears.
Skill Tips
⦁ You can only gain charisma from socialization once you reach level one. However, if you get to level one later and you do a social interaction, you will jump right to the limit.
⦁ Sims that have higher Athletic skill are more likely to subdue the cheap washing machine.
⦁ Handy people can change the tone of their doorbells
⦁ Gardneners with the LTR can revive dead plants, giving you two death plants off one
⦁ With high enough gardening you will get the opportunity to plant cheese, meat and egg plants
⦁ Authors will get the ability to write Romance novels earlier in their career if they are hopelessly romantic
⦁ Singers can hold Autograph sessions at lev 10 branch of Music.
⦁ Sculptors can make unmeltable ice sculptures as a perk reward
⦁ Mixologists with the better mixologist LTR can make drinks with up to 4hr mood boost
⦁ Mixing high powered skill gain drinks then taking on a new skill is a really good idea
⦁ Children can read toddler skill books with the toddler
Wish and life time happiness Tips
⦁ Always read bedtime stories for your child Sims. It makes them get a wish!
⦁ If you have both Showtime and Generations: if you have a child sing to an Imaginary friend, they often roll the Vocal Legend lifetime wish.
⦁ Almost always when an object electrocutes a Sim, the Sim rolls a wish to sell the object.
⦁ Fake passing out can fullfill any sleep related wishes.
⦁ if you want to complete the LTW that involves adopting a unicorn, there's an easy way to find them. They don't appear every night, but if you go to Map View you can see where they are. It's like a dark grey smoke cloud and faint sparkles - if you zoom in, the unicorn will be underneath the cloud. In SV at least, they tend to hang out around the Science Facility.
Trait Tips
⦁ Schmoozer and Clumsy never had any conflicts, until Generations and Showtime. With Generations, Schmoozer conflicts with Rebellious, and with Showtime, Clumsy conflicts with Natural Born Performer.
⦁ Mean Spirited Sims can still have the good trait. Just like friendly Sims can be Evil.
⦁ Occulants, like Simbots, Vampires, ect. each have a hidden trait, which gives them their unique abilities.
⦁ With the Workaholic trait, you can chat up your boss- once your are of high enough status you can ask for a raise or even a promotion
⦁ Brave sims rarely pee themselves when they see sharks and usually win their fights against them, they are also the BEST at tomb exploration.
⦁ all maids have the klepto trait.
⦁ Sims with the hidden pyromaniac trait gain energy from eating flame fruit!
Cheat Tips
⦁ With "testingcheatsenabled true", you only need to enter "testingcheatsenabled t" or "testingcheatsenabled f" to turn it on or off.
⦁ When you open the cheat window and hit the up arrow key it will type in the last cheat you used and put the cursor at the end of the line. Handy for turning those long cheats on and off.
⦁ There is a discomaptags cheat.
⦁ HideHeadlineEffects On
This will hide thought bubbles and the blue plus signs.
Control Tips
⦁ Holding 'Alt' when placing furniture - it gives you awesome control for placement and rotation.
⦁ The space bar flicks between Sims, the full stop and comma buttons can rotate the camera angle, furniture, floor tiles, etc.
⦁ M' switches between map view and household view.
⦁ The accent mark button (`) above your left shift key pauses and unpauses the game. As does the "P" and "0" keys.
⦁ Right clicking on a sim makes that sim the active sim
Random facts and Tips
⦁ It is possible using the first-person camera to look inside rabbit holes.
⦁ Some shows use music from the original Sims, such as the Italian chef’s bit from the Cooking channel.
⦁ It appears that many TV shows that your Sims watch were actually filmed using The Sims 2.
⦁ Quite a few book titles that can be found through the Writing skill or at the library are puns on real-life books or movies.
⦁ Certain buildings play music that was originally in past Sims games; i.e. the spa plays Build Mode music from The Sims 1, and the elevators play the Neighbourhood themes.
⦁ the traits in your sims trait panel light up/become highlighted when they are being used. Eg. When an athletic sim goes jogging, artistic sim paints, etc.
