Sims 3 - Gameplay Tips

Rant about death will kill your sim. The ghost will be in yellow color. I did this and suddenly the music changed, my sim died from this. Another way to die.

I've never heard this.  What is the official cause of death?  I'm not aware of a ranting ghost.

I was playing as Christopher Steel when I sent him to the park. I got him to rant about everything using megaphone, from politics, relationship, etc until death. When he finished ranting about death, he died with 'Expired' in his action queue.

That's really strange.  The original yellow ghost was from electrocution.  I know there have been a lot more ghosts added recently, but I'm not sure of another yellow one and I sure haven't heard about ranting causing death.  Can anyone else verify this and add some more information?

There was a death by ranting in University life.  However, your Sim had to "Protest Against Death."

If I remember correctly, the Sim's ghost is a green color.

However, University also introduced Death by Blunt Force Trauma (such as a vending machine falling on you, or you get scooped up in the Murphy Bed).

This death leaves the Sim looking red in body, but yellow around the edges/hair/etc.

After a sim rants about death for the first time, Grim will let them off with a warning (Similar to an unlucky sim getting electrocuted or drowning). The second time though, they're dead for good and they are a neon green ghost, like in the picture lol300 posted.

lol300, in game with the mega phone, you will get an option to "Rant about Death". When your sim use that option, they die, but as stated the first time Grim will let them come back to life. But if they do it again, they might not be so lucky.

Ah, thank you. Ranting is one of the many things I still need to do one day in Sims 3.

I didn't see any warning, though. Maybe it appeared but I didn't put attention, oh well.

I found another thing about romance reputation. Being faithful to your lover for a sim week will give you Faithful reputation and +10 moodlet. Push it for another sim week and it will give you Eternally Faithful reputation and +20 moodlet. The moodlet seems to stay forever as long as you keep your reputation.

I actually never knew about Simhenge until I was randomly scrolling around the map one day. Then I saw this awesome Stonehenge thing and I yelled for my sister to come over and see. Plus it's a great place for finding rare insects.

I dont know if anyone knows this, but I ran accross this by accedent but the festaval tokens doubbled when I gave them to another sims in my household I had a good laugh and had to share it with everyone!

Zaki - Yes, Simhenge is great for collectors. I remember I had a (very) destitute Sim who was living as a Mooch and a Klepto. For some reason I sent her up to Simhenge and every butterfly was there, even the Rainbow one that has a rarity rating of 'Extraordinarily Unusual'. She caught every one, sold them and got a tidy sum.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or has been said already, but if you want to complete the LTW that involves adopting a unicorn, there's an easy way to find them. They don't appear every night, but if you go to Map View you can see where they are. It's like a dark grey smoke cloud and faint sparkles - if you zoom in, the unicorn will be underneath the cloud. In SV at least, they tend to hang out around the Science Facility.

I don't know which thread to put this in, but the description of a wish one of my sims just got amused me. I suppose it is really an Easter Egg.

The sim in question is pregnant, and on her third day of pregnancy, she gets abducted by aliens. She gets a wish to befriend an alien. The description of the wish is "Your sim has a pure heart and a little bag of candies. That's all it takes, right?" I thought, only if the alien phones home.
