"Any career opportunity received that opens up a skill must be completed if a player is to count a skill certificate."

I don't quite understand this. Could you please clarify?
I'm not sure how this rule translates if a career opp is not taken in a job where two or more skills are required to max. Are all career-related skills maxed annihilated or just one?
On the other hand, if say, the career opp is taken, and that, for a skill that could not qualify as a career skill otherwise - does this extra skill then becomes a career skill if maxed?

Also for the daycare profession: does the mini-van count?
And how should we score the presents from awarding parents when max level is reached?

I don't see that line anywhere so I can't explain it if it's not a part of the challenge.

Oh and gifts from parents are career rewards.  They're gifts like celebrity gifts.  They don't count.

Edit: Nevermind I do see it and that is considered strategy so it's not allowed to be talked about.  I'll PM you.

Job Caps = 37
Rewards = 85

37 X 1000 = 37000 points
85 X .05 = 4.25
Final multiplier = 1.00 + 4.25 = 5.25

Total = 37000 X 5.25 = 194,250

I feel bad for my job hoppers.  They were created as a couple, but never spoke to each other again!  So. much. work.

26 careers climbed = 26,000

59 rewards rewarded = 2.95 (+ 1.00 = 3.95 multiplier)

26,000 x 3.95 = 102,700

I can't wait to hear the winning strategies for this one!

Well this has definitely been humbling. At least this is just my first so I can only get better (I hope....) These definitely are challenges. I did learn a lot along the way though. I also wish I had done a little more research before starting. I did some but should have been more intensive. Thankfully, I love a challenge and this brings back my interest in the Sims.   8)

My sims maxed 15 careers:  15,000
skill and career rewards: 25 = 2.25
15,000 x 2.25 = 33,750

Thank you for everyone who works so hard to run these tourneys. Also a special thank you to Ricalynn who has helped me with several questions very promptly.

Looking forward to the next challenge.

Just curious, do books given to your Sim to read for work count as a reward? The following is what made me wonder this: "Other items that DO NOT qualify as rewards — any kind of books/journals that are part of normal job reading."

no, the books do not count.  It is an opp that gives you the book to read to increase career performance, not a career reward.

What about books that your sim wrote and then they got them in the mail? This is not from an opps.  Just asking. If they count it would improve my score.  Just checking.

Careers 32 equals 32000
Rewards 80 mult by 0.5 equals 4
Final mult equals 5

Score 32000 mult by 5 equals 160,000

No.  The books you wrote is a product of your writing skill, not a reward given to you from a career.

Congrats Nutella, very very well played. I did count up that many items, but really couldn't find a way to get all of them. This reminded me of the previous career caps challenge but got a lot more complicated with the rewards!

Career Caps: 37
Rewards: 82

Final Score: (37 x 1000) x (82 x .05 + 1)
= 37000 x 5.1
= 188,700

Something has been brought to our attention that needs to be addressed.

The Private Investigator career gives "reward objects" while completing PI cases.  However, due to the fact that you could essentially keep repeating these same cases over and over.  Metro has decided that these reward objects do not count for career rewards.  Most rewards are something that you can only ever get once.  The two exceptions are racing trophies and Simfest trophies which are both limited.

If you need to readjust your score, make sure the team is aware so they can change the leaderboard.

Also if you haven't been keeping up with the thread.  Make sure you didn't count any of the rewards that have been discredited - ie ghost position device, fire truck, fire alarm, random gnomes.

Please re-adjust my score:

Job Caps = 37
Rewards = 82

37 X 1000 = 37000 points
82 X .05 = 4.10
Final multiplier = 1.00 + 4.10 = 5.10

Total = 37000 X 5.10 = 188,700

Job Caps 17

Career Rewards 30

17 x 1000 = 17000
30 x 0.05 = 1.5
Final Multiplier 1.00 + 1.5 = 2.5

17000 x 2.5 = 42500

I am most of the way through the challenge and my sims are pretty old.  what happens if one of them dies? is that the end of the challenge or can i keep going with the remaining sim?
