Many thanks for the clarification. I'm thinking of participating in this challenge but trying to get my head aronud everything. I used to play the original Sims when i was younger and have just acquired Sims 3 and it is so advanced from when I used to play as a child so trying to get my head around it all lol

I'm bringing up this issue before the challenge officially starts.

Occasionally, I'll have a sim send a text on the new smartphone autonomously. It usually takes only 2 or 3 texts for the sim to get a social networking skill point, and by the time the action shows up in the sim's queue, it's too late to cancel.

Since we can't disable the smartphone, could we exempt the social networking skill from the rule that only one sim can get points in each skill?

I have managed an 8 week memories file with only one person actually getting the social networking skill.   It was talked about previously and it was decided that since it can be avoided there is no reason to exclude it.

Hi!!! I am new here but definitely not to the Sims.  At one point the Game Stop clerks called me the Sims Lady and would save demos for me. My son told them it wasn't to cool because he never got to play. I'm thinking about this being my first challenge. I also have to let everyone know that actually finding these challenges has renewed my love of the Sims!!! I always love a challenge. Thank you everyone for everything that has already been done. Also, looking forward to competing with everyone.    Do I need to let the decatownies dynasty post know if I have also started that one already? I just started it.

Welcome to the forum!

We prefer that all threads be about a single subject so this one would be about the Job challenge.   You're welcome to do it as soon as the start date comes around.  All you have to do is just post a score when you're done before the end date.

As for the townie decadynasty challenge, you don't have to tell us you started but if you have any questions just post them in that thread and anyone would be extra happy to help you.  Don't forget to read the general rules for challenges but also remember that dynasties are under different rules/restrictions.

Thank you Ricalynn.  I have even copied the rules for the events I'm working or planning on working on from the computer. I also copied the spreadsheet for the other challenge. Sorry for discussing it but about the same topic.  Sorry.

While I don't know how this is going to impact my score     I love that this challenge is having me try new careers that I never tried before. When I strategized, I had a theory that some of these "unused" jobs might work. So I will have to see.  Sure is fun trying!!!

Why is the Game Developer career disallowed as two different tracks?  The rules say it's the only exception to the two track thing, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be allowed if the other University careers are allowed.

The two tracks merge together at the end into the same final job.

I signed up enthusiastically a while back, but haven't had much profundity to add. But I'm giving this challenge a whirl.

I'm working on the assumption that consignment, although it appears in the skill journal, isn't counted as a skill, and hence both sims can do it - is that correct?

Correct. There are no levels to attain with consignment.
