Job Caps: 24
Career Rewards: 62
Multiplier: (62 x 0.05) + 1 = 4.1
Total Score: (24 X 1000) x 4.1 = 98400

Job Caps = 28
Rewards = 74

28 X 1000 = 28000 points
74 X .05 = 3.70
Final multiplier = 1.00 + 3.70 = 4.70

Total = 28000 X 4.70 = 131,600

I'm calling it quits 10 minutes before midnight on June 23rd local time. I got through to sometime in week 9

I ended up with figures that are usual for me in these things. LOL

I had a 'magnificent' 16 job rewards and a 'stellar' 9 job caps.

Job points = 9000
Multiplier = 16*.05 + 1 = 1.8

Total = 9000 * 1.8 = 16200

Well I managed to kill off one of my sims on the second day but her girlfriend gave it a good try once she'd got over her heartbreak.

12 Jobs Caps and 31 Rewards = 12000 x 2.55 = 30600

[removed by Ricalynn for strat talk] sorry for that; don't know what I was thinking. Please see amended score

It's one hour before midnight here and I just finished tbe challenge - got only to week 11 day 7. My score :

Job Caps = 24
Rewards = 54

24 X 1000 = 24000 points
54 X .05 = 2.70
Final multiplier = 1.00 + 2.70 = 3.70

Total = 24000 X 3.70 = 88 800

Thanks once again for a fun challenge. I learned a lot - mainly through frustrating mistakes. And congrats to all who finish the challenge and especially to players with those huge scores. Well done!

Well, call me stupid or careless, but I still haven't got all EP's, and I think it shows in my result.
I'm nonetheless very pleased about participating and completing this very long challenge.
The freezing frames and 'sims 3 has stopped working' messages nearly drove me up the wall. But it also taught me to be less impatient.  ;D

Julia and Julius managed to cap 30 jobs and earned 76 rewards.
30,000 x 4.8 = 144,000

My two sims were able to max 23 jobs and earn 28 rewards.

23000*2.4 = 55200

This was a long challenge, and I'm just glad I finished before the deadline!~ Now time to look at the next challenges...my husband will be soooo happy. ;)

Nelson and Ima Workaholic reached a total of
11 job caps = 11,000
and earned
26 rewards x 0.05 = 1.3
11,000 x 2.3 = 25,300

Again, I was aiming much higher, but it was a learning experience and I got to try out a few professions I've never played with before.  It was another fun challenge and I'm definitely looking forward to the next two!  Thanks again to all involved in the tournament and congrats to everyone who participated!

Unfortunately life happened and with 45 minutes left here in California I only made it to Week 11 Day 1.
Oh well -- it's good to be back in Sim-land again  :)

Alphonze & Betty Sims capped 18 jobs with 33 career rewards.
18,000 * 2.65 = 47,700

My two Sims both finished at Level 9 in their last careers.  They were so close!  :'(  They capped 20 careers and earned 46 rewards.

20 career caps X 1,000 = 20,000
46 rewards X 0.05 + 1.0 = 3.3
Total score = 66,000

Wow....a tie for first place between Nutella and Lena! Grats to both of you.  ;D So, that's a wrap, folks. Feel free to share your insights and strategies now for the job challenge. Thanks to all who participated.

Congrats Lena and Nutella! (and Drift - so close). Before the pros come in and tell us how it's done here's some things I learned from a less skilled perspective

* You don't need to get the rewards and do the career at the same time.
I kept my annoying, needy horse around for ages until I realised that I didn't need her to log the Horsewoman career once I'd got the riding skill cert and the trophies.

* Calculate how many hours you need to work to fill the bar
Some days when you're working four hours or less you'll need to work at home first to enable a promotion on the next working day. I misjudged this a few times so lost around five days in all. The same works with promotion requests; asking before the bar's at the right level wastes valuable time

* Degrees bought with LTHP can get you in a career at level 3 just like earned degrees

* Finally, don't kill off one of your sims almost immediately by going to make a cup of tea while you leave her on the Invention table to die of bum fire (possibly only I made this mistake)

Really loved this challenge though, lots of work but not grinding. Super fun!

I had everything pseudo planned out when I sat down to start to the point that I made a spreadsheet before I started.  (spreadsheet link

Then I started it only to make several mistakes along the way.   The important one being:  Don't randomly marry your Sims just because they wish for it.  Talk about wasted days on my part.

Brain Machines, Midas Touch and Wish Enhancing Serums were big at the start and then Liquid Job Booster and Basil were the biggest things after that.  Liquid Job Booster only works with xp based careers so it was taken for all the professions.  Another big thing was changing life states.  I had the person taking on the showtime careers be a vampire so she never became fatigued while peforming for tips.

To get a lot of money for the gardening self-career, I planted 20 of the red berry beans and harvested them a couple of times.  The beans sold for around §200 simoleons each.
