Real life got in the way of completing the challenge, so I'm calling it about halfway through.

Complete collections = 8 (1.40 multiplier)

Money earned stat = 359,622
Money earned (if ops earnings can be counted, if not disregard) = 416,952

Total = 503,471 (583,733 if ops earnings can be included)

It was actually pretty fun, if sometimes hectic and unusual!  Getting some of those required shots, man...

It was only the number that showed up in your skill journal under the photography skill Vinyl.  Is that what the first number is?

Yes, that's what the first number is.  I wasn't sure if ops that didn't add to the journal could be included in the total or not (as in, did it count as a glitch and should be included, or it's a case of it is what it is which it turns out it is!  ;)).

The official score for me should be 503,471.  Thanks!

I just noticed that you guys accidentally posted my score wrong.  My score is posted as 1206562, but my score was 1026562.  Just thought that I should let you know since I am a couple places higher than I should be.

Money Earned — $1,881,723

Collections — 14

Multiplier — 14 X .05 = .7
Final Multiplier — 1.00 + .7 = 1.7

Total = $1881723 X 1.7 = $3,198,929

Looks like a fat finger mistake.   I'll fix it.

Nice score Nutella!

File name: Camera Obscura
Money earned: 1,739,200
16 collections: 1,739,200 X 1,8 = 3,130,560
I found this challenge nervewrecking, but loved it nonetheless.

Ugh! I had such a crazy month, so I'm turning in another pathetic score. Cameron Kodak only made it through about a week & a half. By then he only had:

$25,241
3 collections finished
25,241 x 1.15 = 29,027 final score

Oh well, I had never played with World Adventures before, so this challenge introduced me to some really fun new things. Looking forward to the next one.
And many thanks again to the moderators!

P.s. I posted this at 11:57, but it's showing up as 12:06. I hope you'll still count my score!

Congrats Nutella, great score I look forward to hearing how you earned so much.

I was disappointed that I got less collections than in my practice game but that was my own error really for wasting some pictures, I managed 15 collections in that and with less wasted photos would have done the same this time, maybe even one more. Last year I did the world class gallery lifetime wish, I think that helped me quite a bit with this challenge, most of my info for that lifetime wish came from the guide so thanks for that  :D

I decided to make my sim, Summer Aldridge, a ghost right from the start after a bit of testing showed me that like paintings or sculptures photos go up in value once the photographer dies, well I thought why not just be dead then. I gave her ambitious, photographers eye, genius, born saleswoman and something else that I have totally forgotten  ::) I also got her the suave seller LTR to help with earnings at the consignment store.

Day one I put her on an empty lot and kept trying the elixir shop until I got a midas touch then I moved her to unabridged, the house on the beach next to Gobias Koffi, and bought her a vaguester to help her get about quicker.

The worst pic was Abu Simbel, in my practice run it took her almost a day to float there but then I had a brainwave and thought why did I do that, I can swim up the river now so this time that's what she did then used a ninja vanish potion to get back. I made sure to get a new photo of the pyramids, sphinx, dragon cave, academy and scholars garden on each day of my holidays, the nectary after that first shot would only show up as a hotspot for some reason.

She had two helpers, in my practice game when I ordered a Pizza Torgo Pendragon had shown up and made some comment about wealth and riches and to call him so I did then married him and put him through allsorts in the name of photography, this time I ordered pizza early and it sent Autumn Cusack instead but I just invited both her and Torgo and moved them both in this time, they are like a blank canvas as Torgo just has neurotic and Autumn has clumsy and unlucky, something I used to my advantage later, I used the uni brain machine to fill the empty traits.

I'm most pleased about finishing the Paranormal collection, this is where my helpers really came into it, after taking the death flower pic I harvested the flower and gave it to Torgo, he then drank a mummy potion letting me get the mummy pics and then drowned himself in the pool, this got me my dead spouse, simply death and more importantly doubly dead, timing was everything though as I had to keep pausing and unpausing so the pics would register before he gave Grim the death flower.

For death on vacation I took Autumn with me to China, she then went for a swim in the market, a rather long swim, thanks to her unlucky trait she didn't drown but she still got me my picture.

Most of the ghost shots I managed just in the graveyard apart from the five ghosts, for that I used the philosophers stone and bound five ghosts to it, four I kicked out but one I kept, Erik Darling, I had my genie resurrect him invited him to move in again then got him back with Agnes, just because I could and also they got me the 'get a room' picture when I had him make out with her on the couch  ;D

Summer and Torgo had two kids, both times Torgo drunk a ghost potion but first child Spring was born human, she did get an IF doll though, the second child Winter came out a ghost baby giving me ghostly family. Boinky the imaginary friend caused my wasted photos as he won spring dance king but it wouldn't register over imaginary friend, with hindsight I should have given it up as soon as I saw how hard it was to get the subject to stay for more than two seconds before imaginary friend overrode it.

I didn't have pets when I did that lifetime wish but one thing I discovered is the ice cream truck registers as a food truck for the nightlife collection, I could not get sculpture garden to register at all no matter how many sculptures I had my sims make, I'd be interested if anybody else got that one working.

Wow that was a long ramble but hopefully helpful to some people.

Congratulations Nutella.

I knew I was forgetting something in this challenge, and Turoskel told me what it was ... I didn't use the consignment store to sell my photos, I sold them directly from my camera instead. I started off trying to complete the world class gallery LTW, but couldn't work out what I was doing wrong with it and so changed to Renaissance Sim for Snaphappy Tribble.

I made him human and gave him photographer's eye, adventurous, artistic, and two other traits that I have now forgotten. I turned on all weather, all supernaturals, set seasons to 3 days each and also turned on celebrities. Finally, I turned off memories. I moved him onto an empty lot, and then had him meet, marry and move in with Agnes. I did that as she had a gravestone in her yard and I hoped that Erik's ghost would wander most nights. She also ha a nice expensive motor vehicle which I sold in order to buy out the consignment store to get the most expensive camera. The car would  I then purchased things so that I could get various photos.

I think I was fortunate and the camera was there on the first buy out of the consignment store. Initially I went on the small photo size and went around town to get all the plants and similar small shots while my photography skill was rising. By the time I headed overseas the first time (with Agnes), we headed off to France to get the France shots needed for things. Once Agnes recovered, they headed to China. By the time we got to Egypt, I left Agnes at home and took another housemate instead (Yumi, I believe). Yumi started gardening and some other things outside.

I gave Yumi a young again potion, Snaphappy and Agnes adopted a kid (male, name of Kodak Tribble) who took care of the kid photos. They also adopted a girl (toddler - name of Polaroid Tribble) who was able to get toddler photos taken. Kodak was fast tracked to YA (got the graduation photo) and married Yumi. Yumi and Kodak adopted a toddler (Ricoh Tribble) who provided the grand child picture for Snaphappy. Oh and Kodak and Yumi became spring dance king and queen at one stage.

I also asked Dorie Hart to move in, and was able to pick up the roommate pictures with her. I had her became a Cop, I thought it would be an easy way to get the photographs dealing with the police - policeman and supercop and police car. It didn't work out that way, and so i made her a werewolf and had her do the werewolf actions. Agnes became a fairy and did fairy things. Agnes was thanked by me by becoming a fairy, learning martial arts, sparring with Dorie, holding a protest against yetis, having a mummy potion thrown at her, eating a snack as a mummy, lighting a fire and becoming doubly dead in the process. She did not, however, qualify for the 'my dead spouse' photo. :(

I moved Dorie out along with a pet (a dog, I believe) and adopted a horse, a puppy and a kitten. I brought all the pets together and got 'a zoo' and the kitten and puppy gave me baby animals. Yumi purchased the three horse riding books, became best friends with the horse and got to riding it. I bought the beach,, flattened out some of it, and set up show jumping things, and Yumi and Buttons did some jumping. Kodak caught a bird, bought a cage, and taught the bird to talk, while Polaroid and Ricoh spoke non-stop to their imaginary friend dolls, but to no effect.

And that was the end of my 4 weeks and 250 shots.

Some features/favourites:-
* Dragon Cave was my best single shot at over 10k
* It took me a while to realise that if I went to the house of a police officer, I would be able to get the police car, completing that photo collection.
* I tried to get the police officer and the fire officer by calling for services and then each one. I failed to get the pictures of them, somehow.
* Death wasn't being nice when I tried to get simply death.
* I threw a mummy potion at a random townie early on ... that townie walked like a mummy for the rest of the game.
* Getting doubly dead.

Some annoyances:
Some shots just wouldn't fire for me, that normally do fire, these included:
* celebrity
* imaginary friend,
* sculpture garden,
* one sick sim,
* my dead spouse, and
* dead family member.

I created a spreadsheet for it, listing all the photos according to their collection, and made notes on things I found (that didn't seem to be captured already):-
* A wedding worked for me with just the wedding arch,
* Dumpster diving needs bins, not dumpsters, and
* Photographing a fairy doing a fairy trap on a couch counted as 'Caught'.

Finally, some screen shots done up as a collage using picmonkey, including Agnes as doubly dead. :)
