New Travel Bug - Social Interactions
« on: July 15, 2010, 02:23:38 AM »
I've never had any of the nasty bugs that plague many of our members, but I've got something new now.  I have a Sim in China and he can't interact with anyone.  When I give a command to introduce himself or deliver something for an adventure, he goes right up to the person and then glitches to move a few feet away.  The command gets cancelled.  I've tried it over and over again.  Every now and then, I can get him to talk to someone, but it's rare.  The frustrating part is that he can't deliver anything and, therefore, can't complete an adventure.  Naturally, he's the one with the highest Visa level and the wish to get to Visa level 3.  I've tried resetting him several times and even resetting the Sim he's trying to talk to, but nothing works there, either.

Sent home and then back to China already? Or maybe other travel locations, just in case.

He's back home now and seems to be back to normal.  I'll send him to China again and see what happens.  :)

Do I even want to ask — is this a Challenge character? (bracing for impact...)

Of course it's a challenge character!  I've got him back in China now and he's able to interact socially just fine now.  However, upon arriving in China, his wife went invisible.  I can still control her, I just can't see her.

Well, I know you play plenty of other non-Challenge families as well. But, I was almost afraid to ask and preparing myself for more issues.

Yikes!  I really hope your wife reappears when you get home, Pam!  Hopefully it isn't the same bug that my Invisible Man got.

I think these things are more likely to happen during challenges simply because the whole point is to push the game to it's limit.  Unfortunately sometimes we FIND the limit!  lol

Wow, I can't believe the rotten luck!

When I opened my game today, the wife is totally gone.  She shows up in the husband's relationship panel, but only has a blank blue square and no interactions are available.  Now he's bugged again and won't stay in bed to sleep.  I'm sending him home early.  I guess I'll just continue with just the three that are left.  I thought about inviting the wife to come visit, but if she's invisible, I won't be able to see her.  The solution to this is to quit the game without saving the moment you arrive at your destination with an invisible Sim!

I know!  All the bugs hit me at the same time!  It's better now.  I had saved multiple copies of this particular file and I was able to go back to a point before all this mess happened.  Just hoping it doesn't happen all over again.

What a relief that is to hear! So, you've got all 4 Wishmasters again?

Don't feel too bad, Aria.  I've already got another bugged consignment shop.  ;D
