Daughter Can Ask Her Parents To Break Up?!?

My newest family, who lives in a basement with no exits, recently had their oldest daughter grew up into a teen. She was talking to her mother, and the interaction came up that said "Ask to Break Up with Raymond". Raymond is her FATHER for Pete's sake! Why would she want them to break up?!?

I've only had that interaction pop up when my sim is flirting with married women; I've never seen that with any teen. What did you do for it to pop up? Romantic interactions?

Social interactions. She was talking to her mother. And her father was right in the room WITH her!

What traits did the daughter have? Sounds like they broke something but you never know it might be trait-related.

I've had this happen.  In my case, the father lived in France and was visiting the household, when the option came up for the child to ask him to break up with the mother.  I can't remember what traits the child had, but nothing that should have caused this that I can think of.  I figured it was likely related to the father not living in the household, but this obviously isn't the case for you, Simstar.

This is really bizarre. Just doesn't seem right. I can see if a kid had the Evil or Mean-Spirited traits that that kind of wish would fire, but aside from that...

It wasn't a wish, just an interaction that came up under friendly. And I take back what I said in the last post. She has "Good" instead of "Easily Impressed".

Oh, right — just an interaction, not a wish. Still seems like only something that would happen to an Evil or Mean-Spirited Sim.

In my first post, I mentioned that they lived in a basement with no exit, so the only women he knows are his wife and daughters. And the insane old lady who lives in the house above the basement, but they've never spoken.

I think that happens to everyone when they get to a certain "x sim thinks y sim is being ______" (not sure if it's Friendly or Sociable, probably Friendly though).  Maybe we only notice it when we're looking for it (e.g. when we're trying to break up a couple so we're only looking in the Romantic interactions), but I have seen it under Friendly interactions as well.

Simstar, I know you said these parents live together, but are they actually married?  In my game where this happened, the parents weren't married, so I'm wondering if that is a factor.
