University Life EP causing Crash to Desktop

Ok.

So, when I first got UL, I sent a sim to it to explore, and that went reasonably ok.  I quite enjoyed it!

Now, I'm sending a Dynasty member to University, and it keeps crashing.  I've pulled out all my mods; cleared my caches, and even uninstalled/reinstalled University.   

According to the Crash Log Analylzer, I don't have enough memory.  Apparently, usually, that's caused by excess custom content/store content.

Well,  I do have some Custom Content/Store Content, but I pulled all of that out too, and it's still crashing.    Which is funny, because when I sent my first sim to University,  I had all my CC and store content still in place, and didn't have this memory problem.

Is is possible that because the Dynasty file's so big, (I'm trying to send Gen 6) that that's what's causing this problem?

I'm quite confused.

About generation 5 I got that same problem.  University counts as travel so all the travel you've done up to this point, plus the giant file size of a dynasty = no more traveling.   At least you're crashing to desktop, I wouldn't even do that.   Mine would just there and hang forever.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.  I was looking forward to sending my dynasty members to University, but I guess it's just not going to work.

I'll keep prodding at it, maybe there's a work-around.

What operating system are you using?  Windows XP doesn't support more than 3 GB of memory, but Windows 7 and 8 support lots more.  If you're having a memory problem and you're running XP, that might be a sign that upgrading to a more recent OS would make a difference for you.

I got this error with Windows 7 and 12 gigs of RAM installed into my system.  The game just tried to use too much at the later generations.

Wow.  That's impressive.

I think Twallan's Traveler mod is supposed to reduce the bloat that traveling causes in saved games; you could try that and see if it helps.

Unfortunately for both Serena and myself these were dynasty files which means no mods whatsoever.
