Seasons and attending university

My sims went to university at the beginning of fall for two terms, which lasted through fall and winter in the university town, then when they returned home, it was still fall so they had to repeat both seasons again.  This seemed odd.

Time is frozen in the homeworld, so this is perfectly normal.
