Can't sell at the consignment store, omni plant won't eat :/

I've got 2 problems. The first one is with the consignment store - I can't sell anything there. When I walk to the store clerk and choose the "buy" option in her dialogue options my sim talks to her and nothing happens! I have never visited it before so it's probably not the bug with items already consigned at the store. It's not a big deal since my sim is immortal (ambrosia ftw) and has around 650k in his "wallet" but it would be nice to put things he makes for sale at the shop.

2nd problem - omni plant. I can't feed it! Whenever I choose the option to feed it my game freezes or becomes extra slow for a minute or two. After that it snaps outta this state and I can continue playing. What could be the problem?

As for technical stuff: got Sims 3 with all expansions and none of the extra store stuff. My comp: Athlon 3,2 64bit, 1,5GB RAM, 512 DDR2  Radeon X1650 Pro graph card, OS: Win XP with SP 2 Pro version, Sims version is sumthin 4.0.86.

Hi and welcome to the forums!  The consignment store problem is associated with the bug, just another aspect in my opinion.  I don't know a thing about the problem with your omni plant.

Try clicking on the register instead of the Sim at the Consignment Store.  When you choose "Buy" you'll get a window that has a consign tab.

As for the Omni Plant, does your Sim have a large personal inventory?  When feeding an Omni Plant, the game brings up a list of every item in your inventory.  If you have 50 Life Fruits, for example, there will be 50 individual lines of Life Fruits.  This can really bog the loading screen down because it's loading every single thing individually.  It will help if you can clean out your inventory some before trying to feed an Onmi Plant.

wildredchild-> my inventory is a big mess! If I counted all the items in it, it would be over 1000 items. I'm planning to summon a mummy today. I'll give him a fruit or something and see if the plant is still bugged. As for the plant itself...what could I possibly feed it with? Money bags? - got 6 trees which give me 15-16k a harvest (every day), life fruit? - I can plant those as well. Hmm....

Edit: the Omni plants are so gonna eat death and vampire fish! There's never enough of those if you garden a lot or play Dr. Frankenstein (by this I mean feeding cemetery ghosts with ambrosia. There's only one ghost in my town's cemetery because I fed all the others with Ambrosia. ).

I think you have us backward in your response.  It was me who mentioned the inventory.  It definitely sounds like the inventory is slowing it down to almost a full stop.

There are lots of things you can feed an Omni plant, unfortunately, money bags are not one of them.  Books (except for recipe books), fish, teddy bears all come to mind.  Vampire Fish and Death Fish are very good idea.  You can also grow produce on it, such as Life Fruit, but it will lose some of it's quality depending on the quality of the Omni plant.

I have a row of about 10 omni plants that I planted from seed.  Sometimes, I can feed 5 or 6 for a week or so and the other ones will not have the option to "feed".  Then the next week, I can feed the other ones and not the first ones.  I am not sure why, but all that is in this particular sims inventory, is the books "The Dragon Ripple", that I keep just for the omni plants.  So not quite sure why you can't feed them and then you try again and then you can feed them.

Pam, sorry for the mix up. Anyways, I haven't yet tried to use my newly summoned mummy to feed my plants because those buggers need to grow a bit. As soon as my Omnis get mature, they will be fed.

I've still got problems with the shop. I can talk to the shop clerk (seduced her even ) but when I click on the counter, nothing happens. The cursor changes it's look but nothing happens. I think the game must be messed up.

I've also got a question about sculpting and making nectar - is it true that items made this way gain 2% of their value every day? Does the price change daily or weekly? I've made a clay chair and after 2 days its price was the same. I'd love to furnish my house with sculpted thingies and watch them grow in value.

You would have to click on the register/cashier thingy, not on the counter. About the value growth, nectars only get more value if they are stored in a cellar in the basement, and the only sculptures that I believe get more valuable over time are topiaries.

Naga, I clicked on the cash register and nothing came up. Really strange. I store my nectar in my basement. Some of the bottles are worth 1,5k. It's not much, but enough to let me progress my nectar makker prof to level 10 in 1 day.

I hope what you said about sculptures is not true. I want my house furniture to be worth thousands of bucks

I've had problems at the consignment store lately too, but only since I maxed the inventing skill.  At first, I thought it was a glitch and restarted my game, but everytime I clicked the cash register nothing happened.  Then out of curiousity, I cancel my consignments and got everything back.  Then I clicked on the register again, and the buy menu popped up and I was able to consign everything.  It has happened a few times since then.  Also, there is something on that cancel consignment menu I don't quite understand.  I think it might be a time limit on how long an item can stay there, but I'm not sure.

I haven't tried cancelling my consignments.  I'll give that a shot and see if it makes a difference.

I was actually looking for something in the forums to solve the same problem, and I removed the stuff I previously had in there, and it worked right after! no biggie, just a slight bit of time but it seems to have worked

Cancelling my consignment items worked for me.  Someone also suggested that maybe there's a time limit for consigning things and once you've had an item consigned for too long, the whole thing stops working.  No confirmation on this, though.  For me, it's enough that cancelling the consignments gets the register back working again.

I've seen the solution you guys are talking about somewhere. My problem is a bit different because I have never ever put anything at the consigment store for sale. :/
How do you cancel consignments?
