Marry Her or Dump Her?
« on: July 12, 2010, 10:37:38 PM »
I'm not sure what to do. My inventor finally got a girlfriend (no single women in town, so I hired a maid...and there you have it.) He observed 3 traits in her, she sounded good, so he's going steady with her. His simbot daughter observed 3 traits, but one was Klepto (natch, she's a maid, duh!).

I get that Klepto is handy to have in a spouse, but not in a girlfriend (she'll steal from him), so he needs to decide quickly which it will be: marry her or ditch her right now.

If she moves in, does she share his wealth? If they split up (unmarried), will his wealth be divided so she leaves with some of it?

You have another option. Marry her,get the gifts and tax credit and it doesn't work out break up and just kick her out. I mean what does she want? Community property?

Marry her.

If she moves in, he can always just kick her out if he decides they are not compatible.

Marry her. You can also change her traits, and meet up on community lots to avoid being robbed.

Okay, he'll marry her! Thanks! No Palimony that way.

This is also why I never hire maids in Sims.

I say marry her, too.  No harm in it, really.  If they break up and you kick her out, she doesn't get any money and will be broke.  The only way she'll "take" some of his money is if you buy a house and move her into it instead of kicking her out to find a place on her own.

I rarely hire maids. I think I've only had one that did much more than make the bed and leave again.

She's proving to be hard to convince to marry him. She turned him down once, and it took a whole game day to get her to woohoo again, and that's with the help of French incense and woohoomium. Then she went home. :sigh: Her relationship bar has only the tiniest smidgin left, so this is becoming a chore. I'm beginning to understand how some guys must feel!

ETA: Success!

Do you guys think that they get rich from scrubbing your floors, clean the toilet and take the trash out? :P Maybe that's the reason for klepto trait lol.

Well so far the maids I've hired have put dishes in the dish washer, made a few beds and moved on. I'm guessing at 125 a pop they can make quite a good living with very little work in one day.
