The Bite"Uh, hi, Victor. You're, different," Nadia said, tactfully.
Hey!"Yeah! I aged up to teen last night! Awesome, right!" Victor said, enthusiastically.
"Yeah, great." Nadia could see the clouds on the horizon.
"Listen, I'm sorry you weren't invited to the celebration. There was no celebration actually, Dad forgot," Victor said.
"No, it's fine!" Nadia smiled. He didn't know he was being used.
"Hey, son. Will you, ah, turn me?" Samuel said, nervously.
"Uh, Dad? Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure! Now don't doubt me again!"
"Okay, then." Victor took his father's wrist, feeling monumentally awkward.
That was when Nadia walked in on the scene.
"What are you doing?" Nadia shouted. "Did you not notice the white upholstery!" Samuel just looked offended.
"I am fine with whatever choices you make, but I do not want plasma stains on my couch as a result!" Nadia knew she sounded ridiculous, but she was not happy with his scheming, she needed to blow off some smoke somehow. And justify it, without being found out.
"Hey, I'm sorry. See? I'm sorry. But don't worry, Sarah and I bought a summer home here. We quite like Appaloosa Plains. We'll be out of your hair soon enough," He said, all nervous-like.
