Gwenyth's Dojo Dynasty: 4/6/14

(I'd like to begin this update by noting that these events happened autonomously.)

Betrayal

As soon as it happened, Giles and Devon both inherently knew that someone very close to them had done something very wrong.



Although he had previously rejected an advance by Evan's girlfriend, the flirtatious Lilly-Bo . . .



Giles's girlfriend, Elvira, proved to be too much of a temptation.

Vera: "What the---"



Vera: "I always knew you were inappropriate, but this is just beyond the pale!"

William: "Vera, wait--"

Vera: "Don't even try to deny it. I saw you!"



Giles: "If this wasn't a dynasty, I would say you were no longer welcome in this house."

Vera: "Precisely!"



Vera: "You two-timing son of a llama!"



William: "Vera, sweetie, can't we just kiss and make-up?"

Vera: "Are you kidding me?"



Vera: "I can't deal with this right now; I'm going out for awhile."

William: "Fine then! I'll stay here with Elvira!"



Vera: "Again? Are you serious? This is just . . . We're over, William!"



Vera: "I couldn't even leave you alone for two seconds before you made another move on her!"



Vera: "I want a divorce."

Elvira: "Mm, from this hunky man?"



Elvira: "I'd love to sink my teeth into this one."

Vera: "Please. Be my guest; he's all yours!"



Giles: "Hold on just a second there, Vera!"



Giles: "You're still my girl, right Elvira?"

Elvira: "Oh, Giles! Of course! He means nothing to me; I was just having some fun."



Giles: "Very well. A rash impulse I can forgive. We all have our . . . baser urges."

Elvira: "I'm only a little evil; it won't happen again!"

Giles: "Then it's settled. We shall speak of it no more."



William: "Oh god! She doesn't even like me!"



William: "What have I done?"

Wow, that is a ten-car drama pile-up right there!

Wow, you completely fooled us in the last update! Poor Vera: her distrust of marriage has only been deepened.

Well, at least Giles is still comic relief.

So William's inappropriate trait kicked in. And here I was expecting that Giles was the one who was a dirty cheater!

It seems rather appropriate that neither of the immortals were able to have a good relationship (although as far as I know, Vera and William could get back together in the next update). I mean, Vera is only around in the first place because Gwyneth tripped up with her original husband.

Giles was way too understanding.  Elvira should start a Who's Your Daddy project.  She's as smooth as butter!

Typical man. Fickle with a short attention span. Vera is a tough cookie, (with the claws to prove it  )she'll bounce back in no time.

Wow. Disappointing, but not surprising. Did he really autonomously kiss her twice? Side note: I didn't think Giles was doing the betraying, if so he wouldn't have had the Betrayed moodlet himself.

I think Vera is one of those people for whom life just always seems to be a little harder than it should. She seems to be a whirlwind of drama. I hadn't intended to fool anyone, but I'm glad you didn't see it coming! I sure didn't.

I can only assume it was the result of that inappropriate trait, yes. Part of the reason I kept harping on that trait of his, since I play quite a bit ahead of where I'm writing.

I know, right? Like mother like daughter? Of course, Gwenyth was the cheater, but Vera is the cheated on. Still, it is kind of odd that my only dramatic couples are both generation two. Maybe that's an unlucky generation?

It really was odd that Giles didn't take it so hard as Vera. Very in-line with his personality. Maybe because William initiated the kissing and not Elvira? I couldn't believe it when Giles just walked up and did that irresistible wink at Elvira right in the middle of everything!

Yup! Absolutely everything in that update was autonomous. I usually jump in and "fix" things because I like my happy family, but this time I made myself just sit back and watch the drama.

Decisions

While Giles unceremoniously aged up in the kitchen, birthday forgotten in the midst of the day's chaos, . . .



and William went to bed alone . . .



Gwenyth did her best to take care of her daughter.

Gwenyth: "I know how much you like bonfires."

Vera: "Mm-hm."



Gwenyth: "I'm not sure where you're at right now, but this doesn't have to be the end, you know. I mean, if you don't want it to be. William loves you, genuinely, I think. And well, I once did something similar to the man I love, but he forgave me. We spent our elder years together quite happily."

Vera: "Fire pretty."

Gwenyth: "Ah, I see you're still in shock. Come on, I think I know what you need."



Gwenyth: "A bigger fire!"



Gwenyth: "Wonderful, isn't it?"

Vera: ". . . It's helping."



Gwenyth: "Give it a minute. Bask."

Vera: "I seem to be regaining cognitive thought."

Gwenyth: "Excellent."

Vera: "Not really. It hurts, mom."

Gwenyth: "I know."

Vera: "You really betrayed Carmen?"

Gwenyth: "It's a long story."

Vera: "Tell me about it."



They stared at the fire and talked all night, until the sun slowly rose up over the hills.

Gwenyth: "So, have you decided what you want to do?"



Vera thought about her options:

Try to forgive?



Re-kindle an old flame?



Or just blow off the idea of finding love and focus on raising her son?



It was time to decide.

Sure, you can decide on what to do, Vera, but anyone but Eggs! I didn't like him!

I love the explosion therapy, by the way.

Try to forgive him, Vera. He may be inappropriate, but he is also kind of a hunk/man-candy. Not that it matters or anything.

I just love the fact that the Dojos clear their minds with fire. Daredevils for the win!
