Clarity

Suddenly, Vera knew just what she wanted to do.

Vera: "William, will you marry me?"

And in the very next moment, her clarity suddenly vanished.

Holy crap! What on earth was she doing? Hadn't she sworn that love was stupid and only ended in heartbreak? She'd seen how her parents ended up! But it was going to be okay. She just needed to stay calm. I mean, they'd been dating for less than 24 hours, there was no way he was going to say--

William: "Oh, yes, yes, yes!"

Well, crap.

Over the next couple of days, Vera tried everything she knew to calm her nerves.

She updated her outfits to something a little less college.

She added some artwork of her own to Bridgeport's hottest museum.

And to random buildings around town.

She even staged a successful protest to increase the town's lifetime happiness.

But none of it was working to stave off the panic she felt sitting in the bottom of her stomach. She was doomed. She was totally doomed. So what was the point of trying? Even if he was just like super hot . . . and those muscles . . . and the way he'd been so daring with letting her draw that picture of him . . . and, but she was totally crazy, right?

A voice suddenly pulled her out her musing.

Gwenyth: "Hey sweetie, mind if I join you?"

Vera: "What? Oh, sure, mom."

Gwenyth: "So I hear congratulations are in order?"

Vera: "Huh? Oh, I suppose so."

Gwenyth: "I'm sensing that something's on your mind. We moms are smart like that. What's up?"

Vera: " . . . How come you and dad didn't work out?"

Gwenyth: "Ah. Yes, I . . . see where this is going. I think it's finally time I told you something about our family."

Vera: "Is this the part where you tell me we're part of a dynasty?"

Gwenyth: "Sort of. This is the part why I tell you why we're doing one. And how did you know we were a dynasty?"

Vera: "Holy crap! You mean Giles was right?"

Of course Giles knows. That hot tub scene was hilarious ;D

Also, I love Vera's outfits. Way to keep the Bridgeport style going!

I remember when Giles figured it out. You know, I think Vera could be excused for not realising it--most Dynasties don't have three children, that I know of anyway.

Yay for the...um...happy couple! I'm sure their nooboo will be cute, if they last that long. Vera's new outfits are great! I can't wait for the next update.

Thanks! I actually loaded up a previous save just to go back and take the hot tub pictures, because for some reason I just did not have any good ones of Vera and Gwenyth together.

Of course Giles knows. That hot tub scene was hilarious ;D

Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with Vera's outfits too, especially the formal wear in the middle. I designed that one specifically to be her wedding outfit.

I remember when Giles figured it out. You know, I think Vera could be excused for not realising it--most Dynasties don't have three children, that I know of anyway.

Hm, I guess not. Although, come to think of it, all of my dynasty attempts have had three siblings the for the second generation. Weird.

Yay for the...um...happy couple! I'm sure their nooboo will be cute, if they last that long. Vera's new outfits are great! I can't wait for the next update.

Haha! Well, maybe the happy couple will grow on you. So far, I'm sensing a lack of enthusiasm! And thanks!

The Plunge

Vera: "So his name was Carmen, huh?"

Gwenyth: "Yup."

Vera: "And you're doing a whole 'nother dynasty just to get him back?"

Gwenyth: "Yup."

Vera: "Huh!"

Gwenyth: "So you see, love and marriage isn't all bad. And your father and I were never, you know, it wasn't like that. He was always free to see someone else. Is this too much? I know it's kind of a lot to handle all at once."

Vera: "No, it's . . . good!"

After talking with her mother, Vera felt decidedly better. In fact, she felt down right chipper! She wasn't doomed. If her mother was willing to work for generations to get her lover back--if love like that really existed--surely she and William would have a happy ending of their own.

So on the day of her father's birthday, Vera took the big plunge. She asked William to move in with her, which, in dynasty terms, is as good as till death do you part.

Although clearly she needed to talk to William about appropriate attire--or on second thought maybe he just needed some less revealing sleepwear!

Even her dorky little brother Evan was having a birthday too, but the family sort of forgot. (Sorry, Evan!)

Now that the menfolk had had their makeovers, there was just one last thing she needed to do before she was ready to get married.

Hello, bachelorette party!

Ahem. I believe William needs more revealing sleepwear!

First: Evan is so cute. He's my ideal adorable nerdy pink dude. Second: A Vera bachelorette party? Epic!

Jeez, William is obscenely hunktastic.  I love Gwenyth's face in the still where she's talking about marriage.  It seems so all-knowing and cunning.

Looks like Evan is still fulfilling the required "cute neurotic guy" role. Hurrah!

Now pollinate.

I should add that William is a hunk. An original townie hunk.

Haha! One vote from Azokka for more skimpy outfits. Although, I doubt there's anything more revealing in the game than almost skin-colored undies. I swear, for a second I didn't think he was wearing anything. I guess it's to be expected from an inappropriate sim.

Jeez, William is obscenely hunktastic.  I love Gwenyth's face in the still where she's talking about marriage.  It seems so all-knowing and cunning.

Obscenely hunktastic is definitely the phrase! Just as a little spoiler, I admit to picking William largely because I'm planning for Generation 3 to be male and supermax martial arts. Let's hope he get's his dad's bod, eh?  ;)

Glad to see that William's hunktasticness is swaying readers to his favor!

Thanks! Dynasties are a ton of fun and, if the rules are too strict, you could always do a non-HoF version. No worries, they'll just burn down a club instead!  :P

He'll get right to it, I promise! Where I'm at in game, Evan has already amassed a considerable number of children. I think you'll appreciate some of his mate choices, too.

An original townie hunk--and with custom red eyes, to boot! It's kinda hard to tell, though, after he was un-vamped. Still, could be a fun feature to add to the gene pool.

Lovebirds

By sheer virtue of it being one of Vera's parties, Gwenyth knew the night was destined to be epic . . . even if the party dancers were sporting some rather unfortunate mullets.

Secretly, she wasn't feeling quite up to all the festivities, but she did her best to put on a good show.

Per Vera's request, she led the toast.

And afterwards seized the opportunity to cover her daughter in fizzy nectar.

Still, Gwenyth just wasn't feeling in the party mood. She was happy for her Vera, of course, but it seemed like lovebirds were everywhere.

Socially awkward Evan struck out with Bianca Rubble.

Only to find that her friend, Bella Hemlock, was more receptive to his advances.

While Giles seemed to have met a kindred soul.

He lost no time in ensuring that vampire Elvira Slayer would be swayed by his charms.

Over all, Gwenyth had to admit: she was feeling lonely. She found herself slipping out of the party early. She gazed up at the stars and wondered just how far away from Carmen she had come. It seemed like light years.

Gwenyth: "Mom. Tell me a story. Lilith's up next, right?"

Samura: If it's a fellow lonely heart you're looking to hear about, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Gwenyth: "Wait. Lilith finally found someone?"

Samura: Mm-hm.

She could hear the warm smile in her mother's voice, and suddenly, in her excitement for Lilith, she felt her own woes slipping away.

Gwenyth: "Tell me!"

Lilith moved to Twinbrook, searching for a quiet corner of the world to practice her alchemy.

Its marshes turned out to be as still and as ghostly as Lilith had anticipated.

At least, that was until a startling new neighbor decided to answer her door in lingerie.

Lilith: "Hi, I'm Lilith, and--wait a minute, don't I know you?"

Silvia: "Oh hello, I'm Silvia. Do come in."

Lilith: "Oh my gosh, you dated Freddie Classic!"

Lilith: "I don't understand, why would you break up with Freddie Classic? The man's practically a prince! I bet he rides a unicorn. He does, doesn't he? Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. I'm a little excitable, and I'm a supernatural fan too! It's so cool that you became a vampire again and--why would you break up with Freddie Classic?"

Silvia just laughed softly.

Silvia: "Freddie was . . . incredible and . . . challenging. Isn't it alright if maybe, just for once, I'd like someone to be mine and mine alone?"

Lilith's throat suddenly felt very dry.

Lilith: "Um--oh. No that's, that's lovely."

Silvia: "You know what I think we should do next?"

Silvia: "Pillow fight!"

Lilith: "Huh?"

*WHOMP!*

Silvia: "Haha--gotcha!"

Lilith: "Well, take this!"

Lilith: "It's getting rather late, isn't it? I suppose I should . . ."

Lilith: "On second thought, would you like to um, watch the stars with me?"

Lilith slowly reached over and put her hand on top of Silvia's hand. She nervously wondered if that was okay.

It was more than okay.

It was perfect.

Gwenyth: "Silvia, eh? I certainly didn't see that coming. Well, I guess we know why things never worked out between Lilith and Waylon, huh?"

Samura: I'd say so.
