Brain . . . shaking . . . what? I love time paradoxes, but I am not up to my usual standard of comprehension today. That was cool, though. Very clever, how you're slowly convincing me to re-read the entire first Dojo Dynasty rather than just Everette's parts.

Past Gwenyth: "Huh, so that's how I fix this."
I laughed so hard at this. ;D Of course Gwenyth ends up seeing another Gwenyth.

For a minute, I thought dynasty1-Gwyneth was going to spot Carmen cuddling up to dynasty2-Gwyneth and accuse him of cheating.  (Although that wouldn't have fitted with the story we already had  ;).)

That was oddly satisfying.  I'm glad that Carmen could at least calm down a bit and see reason, though it's still a long way to go before such a silly misunderstanding is remedied ...

Too cool! It's nice to know why Carmen was so eager to reconcile in his final years.

Thanks! This was a ton of fun to write, and it does help explain the elder years passion the two of them had. Seriously, those two were just crazy lovey!

Oh wow!  Very cool!  Ok, I have to ask how you pulled that off... having never played with a time machine before ^^  You can PM it to me, if you'd like ^^

I just used a copy of my current dynasty file to take pictures of Gwenyth jumping into the time machine from the science lab, and to save Gwenyth to the bin. Then I opened up my old dynasty file, resurrected Carmen, moved in the new copy of Gwenyth, moved out all the other elders that wouldn't have been born yet, and took the pictures for those parts of the story.

Unfortunately, in the actual game, time machine adventures are just text based, like when your sims play with those virtual gaming goggles.

Clever paradox.  Nicely goes back in time and into a different storyline to create explanation for why something happened quite a while ago.  "Genius" must be one of your traits.  Just sayin'

Thanks! I'm glad people seem to enjoy this storyline, I was a little worried I wouldn't explain it well and it would get confusing. I just watch a lot of science fiction is all!  ;D

Brain . . . shaking . . . what? I love time paradoxes, but I am not up to my usual standard of comprehension today. That was cool, though. Very clever, how you're slowly convincing me to re-read the entire first Dojo Dynasty rather than just Everette's parts.

I'm glad you're enjoying it enough for another read through, then! The idea is supposed to be that future Gwenyth only knows to travel back in time because she gets a message from past Gwenyth in a dream, but the only reason past Gwenyth knew she needed future Gwenyth's help is because past Gwenyth saw future Gwenyth jumping into the time machine. A note probably would've been clearer than a dream message, but, ah well!

What a cool, sweet little resolution. Very nice.

Thanks!

I laughed so hard at this. ;D Of course Gwenyth ends up seeing another Gwenyth.

I love the two Gwenyth's! They just had to see each other! It would've been hilarious if there had been any attraction between them.

For a minute, I thought dynasty1-Gwyneth was going to spot Carmen cuddling up to dynasty2-Gwyneth and accuse him of cheating.  (Although that wouldn't have fitted with the story we already had  ;).)

That actually did happen! I snagged a picture for laughs.

Past Gwenyth's relationship with Carmen was really low, though, (from me making them fight to take pictures) so she didn't freak out. The game just did one of those automatic, "This person doesn't think this is working out and is breaking it off" type memos. Still, gave me a good laugh!

That was oddly satisfying.  I'm glad that Carmen could at least calm down a bit and see reason, though it's still a long way to go before such a silly misunderstanding is remedied ...

That will just make their reunion so much the sweeter! Who knew one little social interaction would cause so much drama? It still cracks me up just how mad Samura got over it. Her and Gwenyth's relationship bar went ALL the way over into the red, and Samura started slapping her around. Carmen actually took it a lot less badly; they stayed in the green the whole time, plus he started throwing up wishes for Gwenyth.

Oh! Through this update, I actually saw a new social interaction literally called "Kiss and Make Up" in the friendly section! It only appeared once, though, and I was so startled I didn't get a picture of it. Couldn't get it to pop up again, though. Anyway, always fun to learn more details about the game.

I just noticed "kiss and make up" too! I thought it was just because my sim in question is inappropriate and can kiss anyone at any time (and the interaction had the inappropriate icon next to it). Guess not, though.

I like this little subplot. :D

I was on the look out! Good for you! He is kinda old school; I hadn't thought of it that way but it's true. He looks sort of like, hm, 50's movie star?
Exactly! Kinda like a young Marlon Brando look its awesome!
The Time Paradox

So she grabbed him, and he kissed her back, pulling her in tighter as the rain began to fall.

Past Gwenyth: "Huh, so that's how I fix this."

That time travelling adds an interesting thought to the story and it helps to keep in mind what's the reason for Gwenyth doing all that.
I think she will feel kind of relieved to have the possibility to see Carmen again, after so many years.

That's what I found about the "kiss and make up":

"Kiss and Make Up – When Sims use the “Mean” socials to argue and poke some hate at each other, they are able to let bygones be bygones by using this new friendly interaction." (source: simsvip)

There are some other kissing options like "cinnamon kiss", "juiced kiss" and "rebound kiss". None of my sims ever experinced one of these kisses but I'm going to try now.  ;)

I've had Cinnamon Kiss and Rebound Kiss (which never works, at least not for my sims, and pops up when a lover has broken up with/died), but never the Kiss and Make Up. I guess that's because they never fight!
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

Exciting Enough

The time machine back home in Gwenyth's lab shimmered, and she tumbled back out into the present.

Gwenyth: "Well, no worse for the wear, eh?"

Samura: You foolish girl! Don't you know that meddling in the time stream is what got you into this mess?

Gwenyth: "What?"

Samura: Oh, never mind that now. It's too late, and your attention is needed elsewhere. That daughter of yours has been causing mayhem all over town.

Gwenyth: "Huh, is that why I feel this strange need to scold her?"

Vera: "Yes, Bridgeport High will never forget the day the poor lab frogs were set free. Hop away, little friends! Oh crap, police!"

Vera: "Um, mom? I know I was out late, but . . . there's a burglar walking right through the door!"

Gwenyth: "I'll get to that in a second! My interaction to scold you cannot be cancelled!"

Burglar: "Oh god, I've been seen!"

Gwenyth: "Die, vermin!"

Sinjon: "What's going on here?"

Vera: "Dad, look out!"

Sinjon: "Aaagh! This alarm has woken me up!"

Vera: "Mom's fighting a burglar!"

Sinjon: "Oh good. Well, I'm going back to bed. Gotta get my beauty sleep for the big shoot tomorrow."

Gwenyth: "Fought, and defeated!"

Gwenyth: "Take him away, officer!"

Officer: "Thanks, Gwenyth. You're a true hero!"

Burglar: "I just got beat up by an old lady!"

Gwenyth: "Now, if all this commotion is taken care of, I believe we have a birthday to celebrate. Sorry we forgot the cake, sweetie!"

And just like that, Evan Dojo ages up to child.

Because birthdays just aren't exciting enough as it is.
