She invited Auden to the legacy park for one last date.
And pointed out her great-great-grandmother Marissa's statue, earned for her trend-setting fashions.
The next day was a party with all her new, future friends. She'd made a lot of them.
She almost felt at home here, but Samura knew she wasn't.
She cornered Auden in the laundry room and grabbed him into a fierce kiss. There was so much she wanted to say. Wait for me; I'll be back? But he wouldn't even know she'd been gone. And even if she came back for him after the dynasty was complete, would he be willing to return home to the past with her?
Honestly, right now, she didn't even want to know. She didn't want to confront the possibility of a broken heart.
Samura took one last, long look around and stepped through.
The return journey wasn't as smooth, but maybe that's to be expected. Coming home is the hard part.
"My baby's back!" Rhaven squeeled. As if it all hadn't been mere minutes from her perspective.
Samura just laughed. "And with a few added lines to my face."
Samura set about posing for museum pieces, while Gwenyth made an executive decision.
Gwenyth: "All right, people! Hand in the wands. We've got fifteen days to hunker down through, and I don't want any accidental deaths by fire blast, you hear!"
She promptly stashed the collection of wands into a chest.
Devon didn't seem to mind, he had other things to occupy his time.
Shannon: "How much longer, love?" she asked.
Devon: "Any day now, my dear. Any day."
And so it was.
One final artwork session later.
And it was time.
