Help! Trash stuck in my fairy's inventory!

I can't seem to get rid of a pile of trash that is in my fairy's inventory.  I can't move it or delete it and my fairy goes about gagging through out game play.

You can't move the trash at all? How I remove trash is get a WA chest and put it in there, then sell the chest.
Edit: Can you move the trash to the trash can?

I can't move it at all. When I hover the mouse over it the "hand" doesn't show up over it like it does the rest of my inventory. I have been trying to just  hold the mouse button down and drag it to the trash can as well. Nothing happens      What is this WA chest you speak of? How do I obtain one?

The last time that happened to me I closed out of the game to the Main Menu, opened the game again and it was gone.

Welcome to the forum!  When I get something stuck in my inventory, harvester/car/etc., I always save the game, exit completely.  I clear all cache files plus DCBackup (except ccmerged) and then reload the game.  The first thing I do is go to that character and open their inventory.  I am now usually able to move or interact with the object in question so it won't get stuck again.   

I've also heard that traveling can help with inventory stuck issues.  Do you have WA or University?

Thank you, for welcome to the forums, Ricalynn. I have cleared my cache files,  but not the DCBackup.  I do have WA installed.  I think I will take her for a vacation and see what happens if clearing the DCBackup doesn't help with the issue.  Thank you Ricalynn, Jude and thesimslover828 for your assistance in this issue.

One last thing to try...  While on your home lot with the outdoor trash can in view, click the trash in the inventory, but don't hold down the mouse button.  Just click once on the trash.  If it sticks, move it to the trash can and click again when the can lights up indicating it's active.  It just seems like trash in the inventory like that cannot be moved by clicking and holding.  It's a click and release thing, similar to how things are in Buy/Build mode when you're moving furniture around.

I found a way to get the trash out of my fairy's inventory. I had her take out the trash from the trash compactor. As soon as she had the trash in her hand, I had her drop it on the floor. Then I picked up the trash off the floor and put it in her inventory right on top of the "stuck" trash. That showed 2 trashes in one square. Then I picked up the trash using the triangle in the top left corner so I was picking up both of them. I was then able to move them both out of her inventory at once.

It doesn't work with every stuck item. Any time I get a stuck item in my sim's inventory, it doesn't join the usual item stack, if there are multiple items of the same type in their inventory.

Traveling sometimes unsticks items in the inventory. Do you have World Adventure, University Life, and/or Into the Future?

 I was hoping I could finally clear that thing out, not that it's hurting anything.  Just a nuisance because it can't be moved at all and I like my inventory all lined up in certain ways.  Just a bit OCD about it.
