The Perks of Being a University Student

Dear Friend,

I hope I can call you that because I am in need of one. I hope you don't mind me writing to you, it's just that tomorrow is my first day at the University and I'm kind of scared. I should introduce myself huh? My name is Sam, I won't say my last name for personal reasons. I won't say I come from a rich family, because both my parents worked 9 to 5 jobs every day, but they had enough money to send me to college. I was an only child, which lead to me being shy and socially awkward. One thing I hope to achieve is to get over that, and to make a few friends of course.

When moving day came it took all I had not to drop out before I even went. These feelings are normal, right?

I chose to live in a dorm, well more like forced myself to live in a dorm. I couldn't afford to rent my own house with the $1000 I was given. I knew I would have to get a job soon, but I wanted to get used to school first. There were a ton of people!

"Don't run away, just keep walking." I whispered to myself.

Once inside I was immediately was greeted by this girl named Tiffany.  She seemed nice, but the whole time I was struggling not to say the wrong things. I did a couple times, but she forgave me.

I felt like I was being whipped in every direction, after choosing my room and bed (My roommate happened to be Tiffany) I got a call telling me to show up to the meet and greet the school held for freshman.

Freshman. How I hate that word. Don't you? Might as well tack a sign to my back that screams, "Hey! I'm new and have no clue what I am doing!" Yay! Groan....

After reading up on class schedules and grabbing a few freebies it was time for lunch. It was like high school all over again! Everyone had their own tables and their own groups. I sighed and sat down with my plate at the only open table that no one was sitting at.

It was first day of class. I won't lie, I thought about skipping. Can you tell I was nervous?

I only had one class a day, the first one went pretty smoothly.

That night one of the kids in my class invited me to a party! An actual party.... With people. I must have stood in front of the mirror for an hour giving me a pep talk.

"Hey Sam! Have some juice!" The girl whose name I can't remember said.

I just smiled and poured a glass, I don't drink but what was I suppose to do?

Let's just say that things got out of hand after my fourth...

I began talking to almost anyone who would let me! Mostly girls, but this guy whose name was Derek came out side. Everything went fine, except when I made the biggest mistake of my life.

Like I told you, I don't drink.

He got really angry and told me to leave him alone. After that I went home, crying all the way there. Tiffany came out of no where and stopped me, and I just lost it. I apparently turn weepy when I have too much to drink.

After that Tiffany took me home and put me to bed. So I guess my first day and night at the University didn't go so well. It's going to get better, right? I mean it has too... Doesn't it?

It's almost midnight now, I should get back to bed now.

Love always,

Sam

Well, I got University Life yesterday! I haven't been able to play it until today though. So far I am enjoying it, haven't really got to experience a lot yet though! I'm kind of writing it like the book Perks of Being a Wallflower, it's my favorite book and I like the way it's written. I'm also watching the movie right now so maybe that's why I just started to write it that way haha. Anyway, I am still going to be doing Sing to the Stars, but I want to mess around with this first! Let me know how you like it!  :)

Great start! I am thinking of making a socially awkward sim sometime, too. Love the little bits about how she wanted to skip class, sat alone and so on.

Also, she might want to stay away from the juice if it makes her do things out of character, haha! Learning experiences abound in university, eh?

Dear Friend,

I'm in the middle of studying, but I wanted to give you a short update about what's going on. I forgot to mention that my dream is to become the best blogger there ever was. I've been working hard on my classes, my communications teacher even said she wishes she had more students like me! She loved my enthusiasm while broadcasting the events that are happening around the campus. I was working more with interviews now, I loved the answers people gave me! But sometimes me and my big mouth got me into trouble...

Yeah, it hurt to be slapped in the face multiple times. Remind me never to do that again.

It was day three of classes and my shyness kicked in full swing when I found out how many people were in the class!

I felt like the walls were closing in on me, or people should I say.

It was so bad that I spent the whole class period outside because people wouldn't move! Hopefully it won't be like that next time.

I was in a group now! I am a nerd, same with Tiffany! We spent a lot of time at the comic store reading comics and playing video games with the locals. I felt like I was starting to fit in, I hope that makes you happy.

We have a new roommate in the house, his name is Jeremy. I didn't meet him until that night at dinner, he tapped me on the shoulder and asked if he could sit with me. I just stared at him unable to remember how talking works. I slowly stood up.

"I'm Jeremy." He said holding out his hand.

"Hi." I whispered.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"My name? Do I have one of those?" I asked.

He laughed.

"You're pretty funny." He said.

"Sam! My name is Sam." I said my cheeks were red by then.

"Well hello Sam." He said.

"Hi." I said.

We ended up talking outside until midnight.

I ran upstairs to my room when he excused himself, I freaked out and did the happy girl dance. I turned around to see Tiffany standing there staring at me like I was crazy. My face went red for the fourth time that night. She made me sit down and tell her everything.

I think college life is going to be awesome.

Love always,

Sam

I am loving this expansion pack! There is so much new things and lots to do! Thank you to those of you who commented on the last update! :D The next update should be longer! What do you guys think is going to happen with Jeremy? Let me know what you guys think! :)

Dear Friend,

College life seems to be flying by pretty quickly. Finals were in just a few days! I feel like I haven't done everything there is to offer! Mainly because most of my time has been spent with Jeremy. Can you keep a secret? Because truth is I think I'm falling in love with him.

I never planned to you know? Fall in love I mean. I told myself going in that I was there to learn and learn only. Besides, I was shy and socially awkward so who knew I would fall in love?

"So." This girl, who was one of the roommates, said.

I stopped and turned around, "Yes?"

"I see you hanging out with Jeremy." She said.

"And what's it to you?" I asked.

"I like him, so back off would you?" She said in her little perky Ms. Popular voice.

I don't know what came over me, I just snapped.

"And, maybe you should try putting some clothes on. It might keep people from getting the wrong impression." I snapped before walking away.

After writing a quick blog post I walked into the study where I was comforted by Jeremy.

Did he like me?

"Take a picture with me? For memories?" I asked.

"Sure." He said.

We laughed as we looked at the picture we took, I looked up at him. One of those spur of the moment things came all of a sudden and I just went with it.

I felt him freeze in shock and all I kept thinking was, please don't break my heart.

I pulled away and looked at him waiting.

"Come here." He whispered.

He pulled me back to him and kissed me.

Things just pretty much took off from there, I made it a point to rub it in Ms. Populars face about how he kissed me and not her, she pretty much pouted the whole day. I laughed as I typed a quick blog about being mean. The next couple days were spent with Jeremy and I getting to know each other better. A week later I worked up the courage to ask him out officially.

"Well of course I will be your boyfriend." He said pulling me in for a kiss.

I held a bonfire party that night, sadly no one showed up... After putting out the fire and calling it a failed attempt at a party Jeremy took me upstair and we danced the whole night.

Everyone seemed happy that we were together, and Tiffany was happy I was happy even if she didn't get along with Jeremy too well.

Yes Ms. Popular was still running around in her underwear.

I could feel college coming to an end, and I don't know if it does after exams are taken since I've never been to college before. But the thought of going home and not being in the dorm and with Jeremy scared me.

"Jeremy?" I said.

"Hmm?" He said.

"After college, what happens?" I asked.

"What do you mean? I'm assuming we go back home." He said.

"No, I mean. I mean with us? What happens with us?" I asked.

"Well, we could move in together." He suggested.

"You would want to do that?" I said.

He nodded.

"I would love to move in with you, until you get sick of me." He said.

"Never." I said hugging him.

Well, I have interviews to do and an exam to study for.

Love always,

Sam

Wow! Almost 200 views! Thank you guys! ;D Well, I'm going to go play more! Let me know what you think! :)

Love it! Are Sam and Jeremy going to finish college until they receive degrees? Where are they going to live when they leave school after this term is over?

I love the Ms. Popular running around in her undies, hahaha!

Dear Friend,

This lecture was the longest lecture I have ever been!

But I guess I was enjoying it a little more then the guys sitting next to me, right?

I had to pay attention though, because finals were the next period so this was the time to ask questions.

I did as much cramming as I could before going in to take the final exam.

It was a hard test, but I think I did good. I just hope it was good enough to earn my degree.

After everyone took naps and did whatever they felt like it doing, we sat down to eat dinner.

We talked about our plans after completing college and if we'd ever see each other again. Most of us said we probably wouldn't but at least we would have the memories.

Tiffany and I were avoiding each other, both of us dreading the goodbye.

"Hey."

I turned around, "Hey."

Tiffany walked over to me.

"So, I suppose we should get this over with." She said.

I nodded, "Yeah, I guess."

She hugged me.

"I'm glad we got the chance to be friends." She said.

Tears came to my eyes, "Yeah. Me too."

"But hey, there is always texting and writing to each other. We can call each other, and hey maybe I can take a trip to your house sometime! Visit with you and Jeremy!" She said wiping away her tears.

I smiled, "Sounds good." I said.

"Enough with the tears, picture time?" She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"AH!" We squealed.

A few days passed and results for our finals came in.

"I PASSED! WITH AN A!" I screamed.

"Jeremy! I passed! What did you get?!" I screamed running into the kitchen.

Apparently things didn't go well with his.

"It doesn't matter." I whispered hugging him, even though we both knew it did.

"Bye guys!"

It was back home I went, it was hard leaving without Jeremy. I kept telling myself that he was just going home to pack and then he would be moving in. That was the plan.

This was my house!

I was working on remodeling the bathroom, just imagine a bathroom where the empty room is!

I got a phone call from the school with some news, and not very good news at that. I was trying to distract myself with cleaning up because Jeremy was coming that day.

Ding Dong!

I looked at the door before rushing to answer it.

"Well hello beautiful."

"Jeremy." I said hugging him.

He got settled in pretty fast, and we went for a nice walk.

"What's wrong Sam?" He asked when we returned.

"Nothing." I said.

"Yes there is." He said.

I sighed.

"Tell me." He said.

"I-I didn't get enough credits to graduate. I'm about four or five short.. The dean called me this morning." I told him.

"So we enroll again." He said shrugging.

"But we just left!" I said.

"So? Sam, I know this is important to you! It's important to me too! I love you, and plus I'm not even close to finishing anyway, I knew I would have to go back sooner or later. So let's go back." He said.

"Okay." I agreed.

So there we were, standing where we just left a few days earlier... This time we had more classes, but it looked like Jeremy had more, which meant I wouldn't see him very often. But, who said it would be easy, right?

Love always,

Sam

I guess college life didn't fly by too fast! What did you guys think?? Will they finish their degrees?
