Can't See User Interface

When I logged into my game, I lost all of the user interface.  Now I know you can hit the "tab" key to toggle the interface on and off but that didn't work.

Also on the loading screen where the family picture usually is, it is just blank outlines.   

Can this be fixed?  Please tell me I didn't lose my game!

This happened to me, too, with my Random Wishmasters challenge file.  I couldn't figure out a way to fix it, so I just gave it up and started a new file for the challenge.  Fortunately, it only happened to the one file.  All of my others seem to be fine.

My Sim Recently got done with that super long quest that took him from Shang Simla to Champ Les Sim back to Shang Simla. When my sim goes back to Sunset Valley the UI (User Interface) Bar won't show up. I've pressed F10, and I tried saving it with a different name. It still won't work. I'm gettin pretty mad about it cause my Sims been workin hard. Does anyone else have this problem, does someone know how to fix it. If so please help me.

A similar thing happened to Pam with a challenge character. I don't remember if traveling triggered the bug for her, but I do know she never resolved the problem and had to scrap the file. It definitely qualifies as a game breaking bug.

I had this happen a few times and I just pressed the F1 buttons - also sometime sif you press tab then it removes the interface so you can move the camera freely.

The blank outline family icon on the Main Menu screen is caused by a bad clothing file that's going around.   

Sometimes the missing interface can be cured by minimizing and then maximizing the game.  (alt+tab followed by another alt+tab.)

Sometimes I have get this and press random buttons along the F row (F1,2,3,4 etc) and it fixes or you may have accidentaly pressed tab which removes the UI and offers more freedom to move the camera (It can work with Y as well) you just press Y or Tab again to exit that.

Thanks, but still nothing. I didn't mention that I can move throughout the town and I notice that it takes my house a long time to appear on its lot.

It happened to me right after the recent patch.  When I started my game, I had no interface and no pictures on the left side.  It was as if I was in that tab camera mode, but I couldn't get out of it.  I couldn't move or click anything.  It was a challenge file and Metro gave me permission to start over, so I deleted the corrupt file.  All of my other files seem to be fine.
