Really? I was under the impression it was.

In my Life States Dynasty, I've had Athena do all of the tutoring for the heirs, and none of them have raised logic. Now that I have her doing it with a Slob/Virtuoso/Insane spare, her logic is somewhere at 4 or 5.

It was definitely raising logic for me before University. It's something I haven't tried (the tutoring) until fairly recently as I don't have a lot of kids in my game, so I remember being surprised by the logic gain as well as the grades.

Maybe it only raises logic if they've already learned the skill. Like harvesting and gardening.

Even though I had to uninstall Pets and Seasons to get it to work, I really like it. I love the community lots and how there are always other students there. Very impressed, and I think it was worth every penny.

I really like it so far. I am happy it works like World Adventures (and like the old University) in that it freezes the family at home. You can further their lives in the week between semesters. My Sim went for three semesters, 12 hours each. She had to do to Study Hard sessions and up 1 skill point to keep an A Grade Point Average, which was pretty easy to do.

I had a tense moment when she was heading home from the second semester. The world would not load. Sort of like the World Adventures bug. I cleared my cache, rebooted, and re-lived Saturday at the Uni. That time she got home just fine. So from now on I will save the game as close to the 9PM leaving time as possible.

Ok, I have to take it back - the huge number of 'car park spaces' will not cause the lag that I feared they would, as they are fakes :D They have fake cars parked in them, too. That is my first thought thus far. I am very happy about this, because it means that I may still be able to use them effectively in my new world. I really like the new coffee-shop items, too.

I also like the new 'specify sims for this door' option.

I am not enjoying the fact that living with roommates essentially sentences them to death by starvation.  I've had three die in one term.

Why did you have to do that?  :o

When I installed it and started the game, it was crashing every time. I tried 5 times to go into CAS, but it kicked me out all those times. I had similair experiences with seasons, which resolved itself. I tried uninstalling Pets, since I heard it's the most demanding of your computer, but it still crashed.
I tried everything, I did a factory reset, lowered my graphics settings, and cleared countless caches. But it still crashed, so I sadly uninstalled Seasons, and since then it has worked.

I didn't say why because I thought it would be off topic, since this is a first impression thread.

This does sound really good now. I was a bit hesitant at buying yet another expansion, but I think I'll give it a go :)

I haven't had much play time with UL as am waiting for my teen sims to age up.  My sims were sleeping when I first loaded after UL and the mascot arrived after a couple minutes with welcome kit.

I have to say, I am really loving this EP. EA did a great job.

First observation: save your game before traveling, and then also do a "save as" to a different game file name to travel. This way if your travel save gets corrupted, you can always go back to your pre-travel save under the earlier name that won't have any travel bugs that might pop up. When you are completely done traveling, check your relationships, etc., pretty thoroughly to make sure there haven't been some bugs. I am sure there are other bugs to traveling, but relationships and cloned people seem to be the two I have the most.

Second observation: (others may have covered it) but save your game before you go to graduation. The pile up of sims at the entrance door made me re-load three times in order to get in the door on time.

Third observation: all the social groups (nerds, rebels, and jocks) love the "goof around" interaction. If your sim has the "never dull" lifetime reward, getting to the tops of all three groups is pretty easy by just telling three or four jokes and then mashing the "goof around" interaction. The early levels fly by. Even the upper levels seem to be completed in 5-7 interactions. If your social standing in any of the groups drops down from ten, it takes no time at all to get it back to ten with the same strategy as well. It works well enough, that some might call it broken, but I love that it actually makes the "funny" category of social interactions between sims useful for something other than the 100 joke achievement or a short-term mood buff.

Fourth observation: the social networking skill has a great reward (I think it comes at level 6 or 7), the "relationship transmogrifier". Once the skill is maxed, you can set the relationship level between two sims to whatever you want it to be. It works on your own sims relationships as well. Want your sim to break-up with that pesky boyfriend/girlfriend with no hard feelings? This is a snap. Just use the option under the "social networking" option of your smart phone, and you can set them to friend, good friend, best friend, disliked, or whatever; all without any of the heartache associated with normal break-ups. Lol. Tired of those pesky slanderous stories by the paparazzi messing with your celebs' relationships and killing good friendships? Again, just use the option on the smart phone and restore the situation in a much shorter period of time. The relationship states you have to choose from improve as the social networking skill increases. It is definitely worth spending the time to develop this skill if you are one of those players that finds the relationship building and maintaining part of the game a bit tedious at times.

Fifth observation: I love the analyze feature of the science skill. Tiberium farm here I come!! Lol.

Has anyone noticed that when you click on the microwave, there are new options for meals?

I have Ramen, Breakfast Burrito, Pizza, Popcorn, and Curry Wurst. I do have a mini-fridge, though, and I don't know if they raise the Cooking skill like hotdogs do.

Just thought it was cool.  8)

EDIT:  You can also get a "Cold One" from the mini-fridge.
Check out my new story here!

I haven't had the chance to play around yet, but does the mini-fridge have a surface on top to put things (like a microwave or decorations)? I think Sims2 had that feature. Or if not, can you stick it under a counter like a dishwasher?
