Pippin, you are aware that the genie can't become a member of the household, right? Actually, one way you can free her is by throwing a potent cure elixir at her. She'll become human, wander off, and become part of the neighborhood.

No. The genie can be either gender. Not sure what chooses this.

As far in my experience, the genie always the opposite gender, Rosa. I never had a genie lamp that when the lamp is clean up will be the same gender as who hold the lamp. It's surely interesting to looking into this. Is there any way to change their skin color? I do love genie with their awesome power but blue skin is just too much for me.

Ah, I should have remembered to tell you, Pippin! I'm sorry, I keep forgetting the rules between Dynasties  :-[

I have had many, many genies in my time, Eld-san. They come in both genders regardless of the person who rubbed the lamp or bought the reward. Trust me. I don't know how to change skin colour except in Edit in CAS.

I'll have the genie buddy up to Susan and Boyd so she can move in with them and stay part of the family.  That's called a loophole.  Loopholes have my name written all over them.  Well, not literally, but give me time...and a crayon...

To go along with Beau's habit of standing in front of the windows while watering plants in his underwear

Blair has started cleaning up the dishes in lingerie.
Since he aged up the night before Snowflake Day, Pavo has only had one day of school thus far and looks like a long shot to make the honor roll in time.

But at least Rollo found a new friend to keep him company while Pavo's working on his academics.

Speaking of friends, Beau and Danelle have become even closer.  He plans to release her from the lamp some day, but she has a rather nice life considering she is currently a magical wish-granting slave.

Pavo-Rollo, Mom says I should give this to you.
Rollo-What is it?

Pavo-She says it's Kool-Aid.
Rollo-More like Imaginary Friend Metamorphium potion.

Rollo-OH YEAH!
Pavo-Aren't you supposed to crash through a wall before you say that?

Rollo-King Rollo shall now hold court!
Pavo-See, Mom, I told you he was real!

But what's also real is the threat of this dynasty failing due to missing the honor roll.
As the boys head off for Pavo's last day of elementary school and Rollo's first day of school, one can't help but notice how strange it is to see the policewoman walking out ahead of the young boy in the orange jumpsuit...

While everyone was gone, Beau completed his lifetime wish.  Having committed himself to Blair, he changed his wish from gold digger to Rennaisance Sim.  He has now maxed gardening, handiness, and athletics.

"Rollo, do you think Mom and Dad are trying to hint that they want us to go to college?"
"Are you really this clueless, or just a really great actor?"

Unfortunately, without making honor roll, Pavo got much closer to college age

followed by an age up for Rollo

"I don't understand, Watcher, I saw a sign in the stars..."

The sign was to inspire you to do something with your life.  Look at you now:  two wonderful boys, a loving wife, a best friend who's a genie, and perhaps more importantly, some joy in who you've become.
"You're right Watcher"

"I could just sit here and feel sorry for myself,"

"but I'd much rather sit here and thank my lucky stars for the life I have."

Yes, fail happened.  For the second time in a decadynasty attempt, my heir missed honor roll status as a child.  Next time, I'll age up the toddler in the early morning of their birthday so they can be assured of the extra day of school.  Grrrrr...

What a shame about the failure, but the way that you wrote it into the story, with the positive spin at the end, was very touching. :)

So sorry -- making the honor roll in elementary school is probably the biggest hurdle each heir faces. Tutoring before the heir gets to an A average helps; so does timing it so he or she ages up on the weekend.

I set my seasons to 9 days each so that the holidays fall on weekends occasionally.

Oh Pippin, I'm sorry  :'( I hoped you would pull through. I agree with Raia, though, it was written beautifully.

Thanks, everyone.  I'm glad you've all enjoyed the story.  I just might keep playing through with this family and start telling the story again once Pavo and Rollo head off to University...maybe...

One way most people seem to use to get their heirs to hit the honor roll is have the spouse learn enough logic to tutor the children.
