Dating a NPC problems

I have a sim who is in SV and she was at the elixer shop and the worker, name is Gage, and she were attracted to each other.  Seems they have a lot in common, and I think it will work out great, except for one problem.

He never seems to get off work.  She calls and he says he can't come over as he doesn't know when he can get off work.  Since I can't seem to find his home I am figuring he is one of the homeless NPC.  They can't go any further than the making out level in their relationship at the store.
No chance to ask to go steady or anything.

Any suggestions on how I can get him out of the shop so they can have a date, she can propose and they get married?

Do you have the option of "Ask To Move In" under friendly interactions? This will work, unless you want them to be married before he moves in.

Since the Elixer shop never closes, he will never get off work.

I think I actually saw this tip on another topic on the forum when I was searching for a solution to this same problem myself, but I can't remember the thread... throw a party and invite the NPC. I think it helps if you have the Legendary Host LTR.

No option to move in, and when I call he is always at work.  She has to go there to keep them in the relationship.  Which they don't seem to mind    Even without prompting they go into flirting and have kissed. 

I had done a search, so I must  have missed that one.  I will go for the legendary reward and see if that will help.  They have the CW trait, and both like books and art, her LTW is I. Author. 

Ironically, I had created her to save to bin and then place in MF's for one of my sims who is having trouble finding a mate.  I can still send her, of course, but I hadn't planned on playing her any.  But they seem to be hitting it off so well I am hoping I can play them as a couple.

Just another thought....what's the npc's name again? I think that there is an identical copy of him in the sim bin, if he is the one I'm thinking of

Sorry to be so long in replying.

His name is Grady Briody (I think that is how his last name is spelled).  I did the L. Host and had a party, invited him only,     They got engaged and it noted that there could be a private or public wedding, but that was all. no option to have either.  It shows them up as engaged.  I had to save the game and haven't been playing the last couple of days but plan to check it out later.
Still getting over a virus and am now just feeling like doing anything other than visiting here and some reading.

You will most likely have to invite him to move in through friendly interactions before you will be able to get married.  I had this problem with the Elixir store person before and it took a lot.
