Underground NPCs...?

I've noticed recently that, after getting Ambitions (I'm broke, so I'm way behind with expansions, lol), I notice other townies that seem to be under the pavement.

I've mostly played Sunset Valley, and more often than not when one of my Sims is in town, I'll see speech or thought bubbles on the ground; even worse, when these Sims talk to my own, I have no way of responding to them.

I suppose it's a silly question, but my Sims' romantic interest fell victim to this "sinking", and I had no idea how to fix it. I was tempted to lure them into an open area and use a Miner (that was my attempt at a joke, by the way).

Have you tried either resetsim (first name) (last name) or resetsim* ? The second one resets all sims by the way.

The only way to fix it is, if you are playing your sim, you can send them to the dresser and have them change clothes or take a shower.  Resetting doesn't work, I wish it did though.  If you can, if you know who the sim is that is underground, change active households and then have them change clothes.  I had it quite alot before the patch came out and now I don't see it as of yet.  I am sure I haven't seen the last of that problem.

Well, I never would have thought to change their CLOTHING, of all things... it DID help fix the issue, so now I know what to do the next time. Thanks a bunch!
