Prepared Traveller Reward
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:53:44 PM »
I usually play single-sim households, hence this question:  If multiple sims in a household have the Prepared Traveller Reward, are the effects cumulative?  In other words, if 4 sims have this reward, can the group travel for 3 extra days - the length of time they would each get individually - or do they get 12 extra days?

Given all the travel problems I've been having in my Wishmaster challenge, I'm thinking of getting them all this reward and just taking them to France at 11:30 pm on their last town day - that way I don't have to worry about getting them back after the trip.  But I need to know how Prepared traveller works.  Thanks for the help.

That's a great strategy, Schipperke — to pile stuff on at the end and not worry about getting back in Wishmasters. To answer your question, yes, Prepared Traveler tacks on 3 days to the trip for every Sim that has the reward.

Thanks, Tom.  Now that I know how Prepared Traveller works, that's what I'll do.  Essentially move them to France for the end of their challenge.  I think it will be a lot less nerve-wracking than worrying about what I'll find at the end of every trip.  :)

That is a good plan, but I thought we had to have 100 home town days and 100 travel days for the challenge?  If that is the case, then you will only be taking your 4 wishmaster Sims on 24 total travel days.  Correct me if I am wrong here.

This has already been addressed, wild. If a player intentionally chooses to do less town or vacation time, that's totally okay.

Ok Tom, thanks.  I more then likely missed that particular nugget of information in the other thread.

Well, it's not specifically addressed in the rules. On the other hand, nowhere in the rules do I say you MUST put in the full amount of time. So, it's more of an implied thing. That challenge is going to be the longest of the entire tournament, so I definitely expect some players to post their scores before 100/100.

Actually, one of my sims - Ludwig the Insane - has managed to get level 3 visa.  For some reason, I haven't had problems with him travelling - so far.  So that gives him 9 days, I believe.  9 + 12 = 21 days, times 4 sims = 84 vacation days, which will take care of all of our remaining allowed days.  If I understand this correctly.
