As the laptop I'm currently on is pretty much dying, I'm in need of a new one, and I'm currently looking at two laptops with similar specs with a price difference of appr. 150 USD. I'd be very happy if anyone could tell me:
1. If both laptops can run Sims 3 well at medium settings with 2-3 EPs installed.
2. If the more expensive laptop is worth the extra 150 USD, as well any additional info on the differences between the two laptops if you can give it.

Both have these specs:
Windows 8.1 OS
Hard drive with 1000 GB, 2,5" HDD 5400 RPM

Laptop 1 (Acer, ~870 USD):
Processor: AMD Quad Core A10-5757M
Processor speed: 2.5 GHz

RAM: 8 GB DDR3-RAM
Memory speed: 1333 MHz   (-- I have no idea if this spec makes any difference?)
Max RAM: 16 GB
RAM configuration: 2 x 4 GB (-- don't know if this matters, either)

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 8750
Dedicated graphics memory: 2 GB

(And I don't know what kind of difference the battery specs make so I'm asking)
Battery type: Lithium polymer
Battery capacity: 3650 mAh
Cells: 4

No optical drive.

Laptop 2 (Asus, ~720 USD)
Processor: AMD Quad Core A10-5750M
Processor speed: 2.5 GHz

RAM: 8 GB DDR3-RAM
Memory speed: 1866 MHz
RAM configuration: 2 x 4 GB

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 8670M
Dedicated graphics memory: 1 GB

Battery type: Lithium ion
Battery capacity: 44 Whrs
Cells: 4

Has additional ports for VGA, Ethernet, and 1 more USB 3.0 port than the previous laptop as well as an optical drive. This laptop also has a 2-year warranty, while the first one has a 1-year warranty.
If you are afraid of changes
Watch me at a distance
Whether or not I may do something
I'm talked about behind my back
Let it be

The first laptop is slightly better.

Regarding battery specs, I honestly have no idea what the difference is. :) I know the amount of cells matters, but that's it.

Firstly, welcome to the forum. :)

Secondly, you should of asked this question here. We have a dedicated thread for that.

Thirdly, what's your budget? I seriously doubt this laptop's spec to run Sims 3 and all expansions to a good standard. I would also recommend posting these laptop specs and answering the question in the thread I linked above. :)

It will run Sims 3 on low, possibly even medium.

What's your budget? Have a look in the buying a desktop/laptop thread, specifically the last couple of pages. :) You might find something better for your money!

khainegb my budget is under $1000
i just dont want the laptop itself to become slow

as long as it doesnt lag and the laptop doesnt get slower

Being honest, it's going to slow down on Sims 3... just because of how CPU hungry Sims 3 is. The only way to lessen that is to use a desktop machine.

However, that laptop will certainly run the game on medium or low, and it'd be fine for any office/homework tasks and would also work nicely for netflix, youtube, etc :)

I would probably go for the first one.

The CPU and GPU are both better.

I'm planning on buying a new laptop and I want to get something that will run The Sims 4 well. I'm thinking about buying this laptop - http://www.cfonline.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_67&product_id=1371
I found these recommended system requirements for The Sims 4 here - http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/08/26/the-sims-4-recommended-system-requirements-revealed-hope-you-have-a-core-i5/

Would this laptop run the game well based on the requirements in the link above?
