Career Tracks

My Sim's life ambition is to be a rock star, so I took her to the theater to have her join the Music career. I just checked the career guides, and it showed that the track she was on was not the rock branch. Is she on the right track? Does she have to get to music talent scout before she chooses the rock track?

Yep, once you get the promotion to level 6 you'll be asked which branch you want to take.
