Okay...nevermind.
As soon I posted this, the silly pooch both chased the mailperson and caught a burglar, which he hasn't done in days.
But the new movie titles are new.

Have a look at this thread:

http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,14728.0.html

you can read what other people have noticed (both good and bad) and say your own observations. I know for a start that the movie selection change is a official addition that came with the patch - think it has something to do with University.

There seems to be a glitch with the speed it takes to skill up.  People are reporting teens maxing skills at afterschool activities when they only had one point or maxing a skill they hadn't learned yet like sculpting for going to art club.

I'm thinking that's why Awen maxed her potty training in one sitting, when I wasn't taking any screenshots. I was kind of wondering about that.

I haven't been affected by that bug, and I'm not sure if I should be happy or not. Does it apply only to toddlers-teens? I've skilled up plenty of sims YA and older since patching without anything weird going on.

The 15 page thread I just read seems to say it could happen to anyone.

I've definitely had it happen to YAs and Adults.

Edit: My toddler in the same game where the YAs and Adults are skilling too fast took the normal 4 "sits" to learn to Potty, and I didn't think she learned walking, talking, or the xylophone fast. I'm not sure if she's learning the Toy Stove faster than usual or not, because it's not something I play with much.

I had an Elder at age 106 max Athletics in a single day in the swimming pool (just before he drowned because the Harvester in his inventory was in his way of exiting the pool).

Can I get help from anyone regarding the recent dresser bug?  I'm looking for several individuals (if possible) to test out Sims by having them use the dresser.  The Sims must be employed.   Use two Sims and have them use the same dresser.  With one, make a second career outfit and change it somehow.  With the other, just have them use the dresser.

See if either has their ages reset.   Then save the game.   See if the ages have reset back to where they were before.   Then try again with the career outfit again.

Trying to figure out just how bad this bug is for the sake of dynasties or if it's just one of those random momentary glitches.

So I tried it with a pre-made family, specifically the Sargeants of Twinbrook because they're both employed and in the middle of their adult stages, making reset ages much easier to spot.

- Scout didn't change her career outfit (though she got a new everyday shirt). Age reset and promptly snapped back to normal without me even saving and exiting.

- Bobby changed his career outfit. No age reset whatsoever.

- Saved and reloaded the file. Their ages are in the right place and all is well.

I opened up another fresh Twinbrook to test it out with the Drudges, and did the exact same thing. Shamus got a new everyday outfit, but no changes to his career outfit. His age reset and then promptly jumped back to where it should be without having to exit the file. Eva got a new career outfit, and her age was just fine. Then I accidentally exited without saving for them. :(

Someone might want to test it out with sims from CAS, or changing different outfits, or do nothing at all, or see what happens with unemployed sims, but this is what I have.

Thanks a lot Trip.  That helps.   So the bug is even weirder than I thought.  If it's not a permanent glitch then I can take restrictions off the dynasties.

Nick and Vita Alto are 16 days from aging up to Elder.

Vita got a new career outfit. Her age reset to 17 days, then snapped back to 16 days when I switched from the Simology tab to Career Tab, then back.

Nick got a new everyday outfit. His age did the same as Vita's.

Saved, reloaded, they're both at 16 days to Elder.

Taking Trip's advice, I also loaded up my abandoned BBIV file.

Zivai Ordharnait is 6 days from Adult, and is a self employed painter. Endrance Shadowvale is 7 days from Adult, and is a self employed sculptor.

Zivai got a new career outfit. Her age reset to 21 days to Adult; I switched from Simology to Career and then back, and her age is back to 6 days.

Endrance got a new athletic outfit. His age reset to 18 days to Adult; I switched from Simology to Needs and then back, and his age is back to 7 days.

Saved, reloaded, they're at 7 and 6 days to Adult, respectively.

Just to say, when I gave one of my Sims a makeover, her age came down and straight back up again, just the same as Trip and Shirin, which leads me to think that it might not be a permanent glitch.

Using the stylist salon or the dresser?
