I loaded up my game and it doesn't seem to have any issues.  In fact all the omni plant boxes from one of my Sim's inventories are now gone.  HE still has frozen bills.


I never said this won't cause problems.   If your game was having problems before and you never figured them out, they may still be there.    I haven't found anything broken yet and I don't have access to a smartphone yet. 

I have to go pick up my sister but everyone should be able to patch up if they want to.

Ambitions Updates

♦ Ghosts will now properly appear for level 5 Ghost Hunters so they can continue their career progression.

♦ The frequency of getting called by an NPC Sim to go out on a date has been lowered.

...will apply to people who don't have Seasons installed. I can't opt out of the dating system without Seasons, and my sims' phones are ringing off the hook.

I felt like a kid in a candy store reading what this patch does! They've fixed all the little things that have been bothering me, and then some. Now to see if it works or if I need the super patch...

I too will probably wait for Twallan. Does anyone know if this fixes the problem of the game crashing while saving after building?

A SuperPatch that doesn't require the last update.  A SuperPatch is what your computer downloads when you patch for the first time after a reinstall.  It covers every patch available for the base game.  It does not cover the old patches done to the expansions/ stuff packs up until generations.

@pally - turning off rain in a new file will actually take care of half the building problems.

This is starting to frustrate me. I have tried updating like 8 times. Do I just wait until they fix it? I really want this update but it won't work

Are you doing the SuperPatch or the patch the launcher is trying to do?  You have to own load the SuperPatch from the link I provided. If you're just trying the launcher after getting the message that I mentioned earlier then until ea fixes it you won't be able to download it.  As of right now, if you got the message "invalid file found", as mentioned on page 1, your only option to download so far is the SuperPatch.

Hmmm...I suppose, since I haven't updated since before Showtime came out, I should probably consider the superpatch.  Would you agree?

Your launcher will go through all the updates properly if you want to try that first.  Or you could just use the SuperPatch.  It's your choice.   Your launcher might work but I can't guarantee one way or another if it will.


For those that didn't know it was coming.  One of the things that went live today in the patch is being able to set bed ownership.

I just reinstalled Sims 3 and have been having problems with my game crashing...do you think I should use the superpatch instead of the normal one? And what is different about the SuperPatch?
