I'm not having answers come in for the riddles anymore--are you all done guessing? I want to make sure I give everyone a chance to guess before I reveal the answers.

I, for one, am ready for the reveal...Pretty Please & Thank You.  ;) I'm quite familiar with the 1st two riddles because I happen to live with a bona fide Tolkien expert (He thinks he is, at any rate) but I'm completely stumped on the last one. I don't want to resort to googling because that would bend my moral code but I'm close to losing that battle of wills...

I think I know number three. I do know number one, but not two. :-[

I finally managed to puzzle my way through the third, though in a manner entirely unexpected to me, and the first two were not much trouble for me. If you aren't being sent guesses anymore, it may well be time to reveal the answers.

Good job not Googling.

I can't remember now if you sent me your guesses, but you could have.

All right everyone, my apologies, I fully intended to post the answers hours upon hours ago but the internet went out without warning or explanation and I kept testing and testing and testing and it kept not working, so I gave up. Again, my apologies for making you all wait, it was not my intention.

                     Riddle #1
        This thing all things devours:
          Birds, trees, beasts, flowers;
        Gnaws iron, bites steel;
          Grinds hard stones to meal;
        Slays king, ruins town,
          And beats high mountain down.

Answer: Time

                      Riddle #2
        It cannot be seen, cannot be felt
          Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
       It lies behind stars and under hills,
            And empty holes it fills.
       It comes first and follows after,
            Ends life, kills laughter.

Answer: Darkness

                         Riddle #3
        What does man love more than life,
            fear more then death or mortal strife,
        What the poor have the rich require,
             and all contented men desire.
        What misers spend and spendthrifts save
              and all men carry to the grave?

Answer: Nothing

Congratulations to Wiry, azokka361, Gwendy, and Audren for correctly answering all three riddles!

Ringmaster: Now please welcome to the stage resident strongman, Ivan Rochenko!

Ivan: (wordless shout-grunt of rage)

Ivan: Arrgh . . . TECHNOLOGY!

Ivan: I . . .

Ivan: Hate . . .

Ivan: Technology!

Ivan: (panting)

Ringmaster: Now watch in awe as the graceful Lady Godiva takes the stage with her gallant steed, Camelot!

Godiva: Are you ready for this?

Godiva: Go, Camelot, go!

Nathaniel: Well the second one wasn't nearly as impressive. Kind of a letdown.

Nathaniel: Oh, there it is.

I love how the Strongman just throws down the laptop. Must be the heaviest laptop in all existence, or something, specifically designed just for Ivan to smash into the ground. A questionable use of resources, in some aspects, but entertaining nonetheless.  ;)

I am really enjoying this date so far! The whole circus aspect is very exciting. The caveman was OK, but I liked Lady Godiva better.

Thank you! I must in fairness point out that the last update was not Showtime, except for the outfits. The strongman was just poses and the horses and jumps come with Pets. The jugglers were all Showtime though, and the next performer will be as well ;)

Hahaha I was running out of ideas, and he is a technophobe after all.

Yeah, the horse jumping was tricky. Things like this are the reason it took so long to shoot this date. Hahaha but worth it!

It is, isn't it? Thank you! And thanks again to Vinyl because this date is the one I did not have planned out from the beginning. Although it was still planned before I went live, of course.
He's not a caveman, he just wear animal skins--and grunts--yeah, all right, I see it. :P But he's technically a strongman, which is a thing. Look it up on Wikipedia.

The lighting effects during Godiva's performance were quite nice!  Her coloring, the horse's coloring, and the blacklight effects made some really nice shots.

Sorry, I made a mistake there. I do know he's a strong-man. He does look quite...er...prehistoric. :P

Thank you thank you! There's actually no black light, just the light effect on different colours and the colours of horse and rider combine for a cool effect.
Hahaha maybe, I don't know! All I know is it's--argh! Technology!

No worries, I keep them double backed up! ;)

Hey, I see your reasoning on that one.

Thank you. I found it rather funny myself. Yes, I'm sure a lot of us Simmers have a hard time watching a computer-type device being senselessly destroyed.
By all means, show us the zoo.
