Another morning, and the bachelors are again sleeping peacefully, worn out from the night before. They will have to accustom themselves to this schedule of staying up late!Everette: Well, you're up uncharacteristically early.
Talus: I do not have much choice. I need to take my Sunscreen before the sun comes in. I do not wish to take risks with a matter of such importance.
Dimitri: What's that over there? Another book?
Dimitri: It must be the next date card! I'll get it.
Dimitri: Hmmm.
Circus Roadtrip: Now a Major Motion Picture! Geez, I hate it when they ruin the books with those covers. Every time they make a popular movie out of a book, they have to make a matching cover just to throw everyone off and coast off the movie's success. It makes me sick.
Everette: Wake up, the new date card's here.
Nathaniel: I
am a star! You don't know what you're talking about!
Talus: What are
you talking about?
Nathaniel: Huh? What? Where's the fire?
Everette: Oh, honestly. Spare us the theatrics and just get up already.
Kenshin: Hmmm. I hope we can get to breakfast soon. I am quite hungry.
Dimitri Confession CamWhat a beautiful morning! Last night, the shows were awesome, the drinks were smooth, and Marielle showed just how much of a rare and exquisitely cut gem she is. She was polite and caring and respectful, not just to me but to everyone - performers, bartenders, and bachelors alike. This girl ... is amazing! I was going to say 'sparkles' to match my gem reference from last night but thought that might be too teen vampire/human romance-y. Anyway, so I beat everyone over to the date card! Must be that awesome plasma of mine coursing through my veins.
Dimitri: Oh, please, everyone take your time. I'm not waiting on you or anything.
Nathaniel: Not until I do my daily affirmations.
(clears his throat) Ahem hem hem. I am beautiful! I am a winner! I am a star! No one can beat me!
Everette: Are you quite finished?
Nathaniel: Not yet. I can win whatever I put my beautiful face to! Okay, now I'm done.
Dimitri: He's finally stopped, Leopold, you can stop meditating now.
Kenshin: With any luck, this date won't involve water.
Dimitri: Is everyone ready?
Leopold
(thinking):I’m not sure what herb he’s putting in his drinks but I think I’ll have what he’s having.
Kenshin: I just hope this date involves food. What good are magicians if they can't conjure up food, anyway?
Dimitri: Then I'll begin.
Dimitri: Just as I suspected, there is again a little card in here with the information on it. Let's see. "Nathaniel, Dimitri, Talus, Kenshin, and Dominic. Are you ready for Lions and Tigers and Bears? Oh my!" And it's signed once again: "Marielle" with a little heart.
Nathaniel
(bursting out): I call the wizard!
Dominic: What?
Nathaniel: Nothing. Nothing.
(muttering audibly) If you haven't figured it out, I'm certainly not going to tell you.
Leopold
(thinking): Hmm I’m thinking karaoke except it combines two things I detest: people who can’t sing with people who shouldn’t drink.
Dimitri: Well, that's that. I guess we have until tonight to do what we please.
Dominic: Then I'll take my morning jog.
Leopold: Everette? Do you fancy a sparring match?
Everette: Excellent. I'll get my gi.
Kenshin: I'd like to attempt the tabletop games again. Talus? Do you care to join me?
Talus: That would suit me.
Nathaniel: Well, I'm going to . . . not tell you what I'm going to do! Muahaha!
Dimitri: All right. I'll see you gents this evening then.
Nathaniel: Wait! What are we supposed to wear?
Dimitri: Oh! Ummm, it doesn't say. Casual dress, I guess.
Nathaniel: Oh, all right then. I look good in anything, anyway.
Dimitri Confession CamAlright! I got called for the group date! Wait, does that mean I won't get a one-on-one date this week then? Bummer. Well, on the positive, this group date sounds like a real adventure! 'Circus Roadtrip' huh? Sounds like we might be leaving Starlight Shores. One girl and 5 guys, on the open road. I sure hope we get to ride in a limo, I don't think the rest of us would be comfortable in even a mini-van with Nathaniel's wings coming along. 'Lions and tigers and bears', I wonder if we're going to a zoo, or perhaps we'll be dressing up in animal costumes (I was as shark for Spooky Day when I was a kid), or watching an acrobat. Any of these would be exciting and fun! Now to come up with something to do today while we wait. Swimming? Work on my latest book? Skype with my Mom or sister? Maybe I should socialize with some of the guys instead. Decisions, decisions.
Leopold Confession CamOkay, so Everette and I are not included in this one. Everette has nothing to fear, he has the immunity roses. I, on the other hand, may have blotted my copybook blundering in on her and Dimitri last evening. C’est la vie. Still... I have a whole day and evening to do whatever I want with the added bonus of no egotistical fairy. I wonder who I have to charm to get an invitation to Magic Manor of Starlight Shores? I'll ask the cameraman. But first, I’ll work off some nervous energy. Sparring with Everette will do fine.
Nathaniel Confession CamWhat? Does Starlight Shores suddenly have a zoo? No, wait, that's technically impossible . . . I know! We're going to a theatre or film studio, for a reenactment of The Wizard of Oz! That must be one of Marielle's favorite novels.
Oooh, maybe we'll all get our own parts! I'll be the Wizard of course, who sweeps Dorothy off her feet at the end of the movie--at least, that's how I remember it!--and Marielle will be Dorothy. Everette Dojo can be the Tin Man because he's made of metal with no heart, Talus can be the Cowardly Lion because he's scared of the sun (sorry man, you know you're awesome) and, for obvious reasons, Dominic is the scarecrow. Kenshin is definitely the Wicked Witch of the West! He just hasn't grown into it yet. I guess that makes Dimitri: Glinda the Good Witch! He is blue and floaty, I guess . . . or is that me? Oh, and Leopold can be Toto! (He's adorable and can cook.)
Dominic Confession CamI hope that we're going to the circus because I love the circus! I used to go all the time as a kid. It was a little different to these American ones, since they only served tiramisu rather than popcorn. But still!
What I'm really hoping for this date is that me and Marielle can have a proper conversation. I really need to apologise for my comment about her being a vampire. Which I find hot, by the way.
Everette Confession CamWell, it looks like it's the two older gentlemen left out of the date tonight. I guess I shouldn't be surprised; Marielle has . . . such a whimsical, free-spiritedness about her. I'm afraid Leopold and I must seem quite droll.
(sigh) Well, who knows? Maybe experience will win out against the exuberance of youth in the end after all! I mustn't let myself be discouraged. Faint heart, as they say, never won fair lady.
Talus Confession CamI am not fond of the Wizard of Oz. The protagonist is killed for trying to get her deceased sister's shoes back, and it looks as if the other characters kept them away from her only for the fun of it. And it is framed as a good thing.
(annoyed sigh)I do like bears, though.
Marielle Confession CamThis, I think, is one of my better ideas. I can see who paid attention to my introduction! The clue is twofold. I can't wait to see who's surprised!
