Adventures?

Hi! I seem to be running into a circular pattern so to speak here. I'm *trying* to avoid any adventures that involve taking pictures because that is still broken and it doesn't look like EA has any intentions on fixing it!   It seems as though right now, I either have to accept some picture taking or find 5 pieces of gold. I've done the gold one twice now and canceled out the picture taking one and the gold search one came up again! Is there any way to toggle this beyond this circle? I tried one work around on the picture taking, but it didnt work. Maybe I'll just uninstall Generations and do some picture taking quests.  Somebody suggested that I take a picture of the sim that I need to and then transfer that picture to the other sim. That didn't work. It didn't satisfy the quest.

Edit to add: What I'd like is to get the advemture(s) leading to the queen's quarters. I've already done the servant's quarters.

Erm, how is picture taking broken?  My most recent family has been taking pictures left and right, and brought back a picture of the Dragon's Cave for an opportunity and got $20k.

The opportunity to take a picture of so and so keeps coming up, but I don't have the ability to take portrait pictures and when I do, it doesn't count. I just tried one more time. I selected "Take photo" and made sure that the subject was in range, then snapped the picture. I transferred the picture to his inventory, but the option to "deliver photo" is *still* grayed out! So what's next? How do I accomplish this? I can take pictures of just about anything, but not portraits.

Make sure the description below the view finder says something like "A Sim in the Area" or "My Friend" before you take the picture. I had an opportunity yesterday to take a picture of a sim for a passport photo, and the first one I took, nicely centered, said "A Candle (Still Life)" and didn't qualify. I then took one pointed at his stomach which did work. 

Edit: Oh, and the size of the picture doesn't matter, as long as the subject line mentions what you are trying to capture on film.

It can be tedious, but if you just keep going back to the Adventure Board, you will eventually get the ones that haven't been done yet.  There's really no trick to breaking the cycle.  Is your Sim on his/her first trip to this location? 

Branr's advice about the photos is good.  The description in the viewfinder has to be specifically something about that Sim for it to register.  Have you heard somewhere that there's a glitch in photography for what you describe?

I tried one person's work around, but it didn't work.   Something else I noticed. It doesn't matter what I take a photo of, it always shows a picture of a lady sim. I tried taking the adventure of getting a picture of a pile of coins and I did, but when I transferred it to his inventory, it still showed the lady sim picture. Maybe that's why it's not counting.

The icon in your inventory is the generic icon for a photograph.  If you hover your mouse over the photograph, a small pop-up window will show you what the actual picture looks like.

Well, it still didn't work. I tried a few times and it just won't work. I finally gave up after sitting here for at least 15 min rejecting quest after quest. It was stuck in a loop. It just kept repeating 2 "take a photo of so and so" and then "befriend 3 Al Simharans" then back to 2 take photos. *sigh* I"m not going to sit here all night hoping to get the quest to the queens quarters. I'm not sure why it's not showing up. I did try Pam's suggestion and got a couple more figureines, but that's it. The last one was the sigil of forgetfulness or something like that.

Adventures are also limited by visa level.
