Magician Glitch

About your photo of the tragic clown: did you brought him back from the death? Because he looks very alive in your picture and somewhere else on this forum I've read that he was dead in The Sims 3.

Tragic Clown resides in the graveyard.. ( he is dead  ).  They are talking about a different person who is new in TS3, you can usually see him in Central Park Sunset Valley....here's a pic of one of the Magician's I've seen in my game.


His name was Darrick Flynn who only has 3 traits show up after my Sim talked to him, which were Charismatic, Flirty and Good Sense of Humor.  They are always dressed like this (although the color of the Tux varies, I've only seen dark colors like black and greys, and have the face paint).

Wanting to be fair and give some screen time to the female Magician too!    I didn't write her name down, but this is a female Magician and she is saluting my Sim who is at the top of the Military Career.  



Oh, for those who haven't seen Tragic Clown in the game here's a pic from Wiki showing him from TS3 and TS1.  



I think he's crying because EA dressed him up in such a ridiculous outfit..

To answer Leto: There is a grave in the graveyard where the Tragic Clown is buried.  He's from Sims 1 and would show up when your sim was feeling blue.  The magician in the pictures here is a new Sim that shows up around town.  He's an NPC, and there is lots of debate about his/her purpose.

Lol Leto85, I have trouble with the quoting too.    Anyway I can't remember where I got the pic's of Tragic Clown, but I did bring him back to life in one of my games.  Here he is coming back to life in my game (he just ate some ambrosia)  :


He had a couple of kids, but I didn't get them past toddler age, so I don't know if they ever got any special traits or anything.  I guess he had more of a staring role in TS1 (which I never played) and in TS2 no so much.

I'm pretty sure that the Tragic Clown and the Magicians are separate characters.  Magicians can be both male and female.  They hang around the park most of the time.  Tragic Clown starts Sims 3 in the cemetary as a ghost.

Weird, my sims are fishing there a lot of time to get some delicious Deathfish, and although there is now a whole circus of past away sims (because of the many generations I have gone throw) but I've never spotted a ghost clown. Looks like there is more interestings going one in the beyond than I thought. Have to check some graves.

I need to revive a 14 months old post because I am really curious if any of you are still finding Magicians in your game because I will like to breed with one, to see what will come out of it.

I really advise you against doing that. Magicians are really glitched NPCs, much like the Grim Reaper. This is because EA didn't have the time to finish their initial plan with them, but they stayed in the game code for some reason. I also think the Try for Baby option won't be there. Also, you have to either use cheats or be very quick to move him/her in, because he/she tends to vanish into thin air before you even manage to get a decent relationship level with him/her.

Yes, I know about the vanishing (I've read this topic to be sure before posting ), but that they are glitched because of unfinished creating I wasn't aware off. Where did you get that info?

On Sims Wiki, and other forums I can't link to here. I learned the hard way, too. Once (most likely in one of my failed dynasty attempts) I aimed for making the six Sims at the location my Sim was at at the moment his initial six best friends. One of those Sims was a magician. So I thought, why not, that's cool. However, when I clicked on him to choose an interaction, he suddenly vanished. So there you go, don't mess with 'em magicians.
