The Dolmayan Legacy
« on: February 15, 2013, 09:15:33 AM »

Our story begins with Mr. Cliff Dolmayan (if you know where I derived those names from, I will love you forever), a 23-year-old man who lived with his parents for longer than they liked, which resulted in them kicking him out onto the street with not a penny to his name (then again, pennies went out of business a couple of days ago in real life). With nothing left and not even a house, Cliff must make due with an empty plot of land and some furniture.

Through college classes, Cliff has become a bit of a Genius, although he retains how Flirty he's always been. Lucky as he is, he was blessed with the gift of being a Virtuoso and plans on being a member of a Thrash Metal band, although he can be Family-Oriented when he needs to. He one day aspires to become a one-Sim band.

Things are boring for Cliff in his new...Well, I wouldn't call it a house.

Because of his aspiration to one day be a Metal legend, he immediately picks up the electric guitar he brought from home which, for some bizarre reason, sounds just like an acoustic.

After several hours of playing his False Advertising With Strings, the paper finally arrives. Although he will one day become a self-employed musician, for now, he must make money through the music career.

This essentially means until Cliff has enough money and bandmates, I'll have to sit watching the house from 3 to 9 until he gets off work. Yay.

Cliff joins the music career and gets up from his chair, then proceeds to OH SWEET FLUBBER

After making several deranged faces that probably killed kittens in their sheer unholiness, Cliff decides to head to the park to make some friends and possibly fall in love with a woman to help carry on his legacy.

After tediously clicking every park in the town and constantly having to use the "Go Here" action, Cliff finally spots a couple of people in central park. A man named George Dean and a fellow musician named Meadow Carpenter-Rhodes.

Cliff, sure that he would hit it off with any woman who was a fellow musician, decided to approach her and enthuse about music after introducing himself.

They talked and talked as George Dean moped around in the background, and they became friends quickly. Pay attention to this odd-faced woman, folks. She may play an integral role in Cliff's life.

That's all for now, but I'll be sure to add another chapter later. Hope you enjoyed it and sorry for the size of the images. If they're too big, I'll resize them.

It might be my wide-screen, but the images look fine to me.

Great start! I love the idea of a metalhead founding a legacy, though I had to Google his last name and hope that I was right about where his first name came from.

Well, if you guessed Cliff Burton and John Dolmayan, you'd be absolutely correct.

Thanks, I'll get to chapter two soon. Where this part left off is where I left off and I haven't played any further yet, so I'm going to continue as soon as possible.

To make this story much more interesting, I've added a handful of random townies I made myself to this town, so hopefully I'll run into a couple of them. Now continuing playing so chapter two can get up soon.

Thanks for the bookmark, Plat!  ;D

Anyway, here's chapter two. Remember how I recently said I've added several random townies? Well, one is already making an appearance in this chapter.

After talking with Meadow, Cliff decides to return home. After bizarrely changing into his pajamas for no apparent reason, he picks up the guitar and begins improving his skill once again.

After spending most of the afternoon playing, Cliff grabs a bowl of cereal to eat, relieves his bladder meter, and heads to the shower...Only to do the "I can't go there" dance.

After I move the shower for him and he finishes, it turns out it he got a bad moodlet because the shower was cold. I suppose it would be if you were showering in the middle of the night with nothing but a flat field surrounding you.

Cliff, after playing a bit more, heads to sleep. It may be dark with no lights in his house, but thankfully the lightning streak on his guitar acts as a lamp.

It appears I put Cliff to bed too early, as he gets up in the middle of the night. I decide to take him out for a stroll to lower his energy bar. Remember how I said Meadow may be a big part of his life? Well, it appears that sentence may have been full of it. I went to get a drink and when I came back, Cliff had stopped running and was talking to one of the random townies I had made myself and planted in the town: Ronnie (short for Veronica but I'd imagine she hates that name) Ellefson. While I was making this particular Sim, I didn't fully realize how compatible she'd be with Cliff. Aside from the Athletic trait (which, frankly, is the only trait I remember giving her as she was one of the first I made for random-town), she seems to fit him quite well. In fact, they were already flirting.

Now that I was in control, I decided to have the two go inside to continue their business. After a while, Cliff realized that Ronnie was more his type than Meadow, and decided to ask her to go steady (I'm not sure if it's against the legacy rules to get together with a player-made Sim, but I suppose we'll find out). She accepted, and now the two are official.

Seeing she was tired, he decided to head home and let his new girlfriend rest. He wasn't sure what he'd do about Meadow, but he'd figure it out. Today was a successful day for Cliff.

And, judging by the look on her face, it was for Ronnie as well.

Sorry for the short part guys, I didn't have a lot of time to record this one. I'll try to make part three longer than part one to make up for this.

Funny how Sim free will works huh? Sometimes they walk around town and find love. Other times they burn the house down because they can't wait for their spouse (with some actual cooking skill) to come home from work.

Nice update. Hope he lets Meadow down easy.

Okay, I've officially added Ronnie, a single mother and her child, an insane party lover, a snake of a rich man, and an artistic bookworm couple. Now that the town's a bit more spiced up with various player-made Sims, the legacy should be a bit better.

Yeah, unless I have a Sim with the Natural Cook trait, the family eats cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I want to apologize for the lack of updates. I'm very busy with my band and our demo tape is on a deadline, but when I get some free time I will definitely update.

It looks that today's part will be even shorter than the last because I lost a lot of the screenshots. Sorry guys!

Coming back home, Cliff sits down and...Gets a moodlet saying how wonderful this house is. Clearly, Cliff doesn't have many standards. Seeing that, for whatever bizarre reason, he has more money (think it might have to do with that glitch), Cliff decides to buy a bass and put it up in the house, already one level into the bass skill.

Soon enough, his carpool shows up.

Cliff, after going to work, calls up Ronnie and invites her over.

For some reason, she has one star in celebrity points. After buying a double bed with the leftover money that he didn't spend on the bass, Cliff figures it's now or never. He decides now that their relationship is so high, he might as well ask her to Try For Baby, as he certainly wants to carry on his legacy. She accepts, they go get it over with, and...Success! The baby chime rings all too loud into my headphones, temporarily deafening me, as the two contentedly sit together.

After getting up, Cliff decides it's another case of now or never and figures that if Ronnie's going to be the mother of his child, they might as well be married. He calls her over and she walks to him with a very bizarre gait...

Unfortunately, the proposal was one of the many lost screenshots again. However, what went down was Cliff pulled out the ring, Ronnie put it on, and ACCEPTED. Joyous joy of joy-filled Joyland, joyfully run by the joyous mayor Joy Mercer! The legacy has officially been kickstarted, and the two will spend the rest of their lives together.

...Or at least they will later, because Cliff's carpool shows up the second the proposal is finished.

I really want to apologize for the short chapter. I accidentally lost the screenshots and I can't find them in any of my files, even the recycle bin.

Congrats to Cliff and Ronnie!

Yeah, a lot more happened from the time Cliff got home to the time he proposed, but thankfully it was the less important stuff like leveling up his skills and such.

As this story has not been updated in over a year and the author is not currently active in the forum, I'm moving the story to the graveyard.
