"Unknown Error Occurred" on Mac
« on: February 06, 2013, 09:31:34 PM »
Recently, I decided to play the base game again and then every expansion pack in order. At the begining, I installed the base game solely and played without any problems. Later, I installed both "World Adventures" and "High-End Loft Stuff." The game patched itself normally. However, a message of "Unknown Error Occurred" popped up once I start the launcher.

After a several tries, I think I should re-install the game. However, the sims 3 uninstaller said that the file is crushed and cannot be run (something like this, I am using Chinese on my Mac). So, I uninstall everything manually and installed again. This time, I tried to start the game without patches. However, once I clicked the play button in game launcher and refused to update the patches. The launcher closed automatically without any message and the game didn't started up.

Unfortunately, after updated the patches, the "Unknown Error Occurred" message popped up again and the launcher never show up. Furthermore, I'm sure the progress of update completed but I can't found the uninstaller this time.

I have searched the forum in EA website. A few people face this problem too and no solution till now. Does anyone have idea about this? Thank you.

Note: I'm using Mountain Lion.
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...
