I came across this problem posted everywhere while looking to solve another one for the kids.
Apparently there's not been a way to restore things from the junk yards.
I didn't find an answer via Google other than blowing them up.
Sorry is this is already solved.
Here's a way.
It's a bit of a cheat because the Sim doesn't do any other work to get it, but:
> Store your Salvage anywhere on the property or put it in the house.
> Move to an Empty Lot.
> SELL the furniture. Don't Pack it.
> Once at the Empty Lot, get out the Cell Phone and Move right back to the original house.
Everything else will be just as you left it.
The items will be restored for use or sale.
They are for me at least.
