The Move
Clearly, Zelda needs a little bit of time to sort out her wardrobe. While she does that, you can appreciate the striped pattern on Roger's bathrobe as he walks away.
It's not too long before she's back to her normal self. She rolled Technophobe as her last trait. Aside from my wondering if that might interfere with her Magician career, it does give me an idea for her characterization. I'm now kind of seeing her as a wannabe fairy who wants to go to Moonlight Falls to gain magic Fae powers.
Accordingly, I give her some fairy-esque clothes. Her formalwear (which we might not see for a while) is actually the PlantSim clothes. It definitely gives Zelda her own style, though I wonder what she could wear as an Elder. I don't think those clothes carry over into that Life State.
Anyway, my second targeted spouse (after Kidd Goldbeard, who caught some weird aging bug and then moved out) is Phillip Annan, who starts the game as a Teenager. Therefore, he's much older than Zelda, and should be about halfway through his Adult life stage by now. Fortunately, he's a vampire, so he's still young. Unfortunately, his courtship takes three days, for a couple of reasons. One, he's a celebrity, and apparently teens can't try to impress Celebrities. Two, he's a cook, so he's only available for a few hours a day. Third, he's engaged, so I have to waste time getting him to break off that relationship. While we wait for Zelda to get this all squared away, we can check out what the rest of the family is up to.
Now that Zelda actually
has stuff to do, Chuck finally gets to do some parenting of his own. Zaahira is evidently not happy with this development.
Roger enjoys the winter weather by making some snowmen, which the paparazzi promptly destroy a day or two later.
And with her fifth masterpiece complete, Zara manages to SuperMax painting without actually reaching level 10. Painting isn't all that hard to SuperMax, especially when it's your fourth time doing it. Still, congratulations to Zara.
On the second day, Zelda manages to propose to Phillip. I have the Private Wedding queued up right after that... and he has to go to work. Zelda was not amused. She's in her graduation robes because she skipped out on going to City Hall, but still got dressed and threw her diploma. I'm not quite sure what she was doing, to be honest. Anyway, more family matters.
Zelda still seems quite happy about her engagement, so she decides to make some snow angels. After knocking down another snowman. I think that one was made by a paparazzi or something.
Zaahira couldn't care less about all these romantic troubles. She's tired, and wants to sleep. (Still traitless, I'm afraid. I never remembered to roll her any before the move.)
Most Sims would be rather frightened if they saw a zombie right in front of them. What does Zelda do? She
yawns in his face! That's some true bravery there. She tries inviting Phillip over afterwards, trying to get married, but for some reason he, "doesn't feel like coming over." This merits further investigation.
As it turns out, the Annan household had been invaded by ghosts! I didn't even know that this could happen when you're not playing a Ghostbuster. (I forget the actual career, but let's not kid ourselves. They're Ghostbusters.) Unfortunately for the Annans, the Ghostbuster they hired seems to be completely incompetent, choosing to just stand at the door like a fool.
None of this prevents the lovely private wedding of Zelda Rao and Phillip Annan. It's at the point where he moves in that I realize he's somehow Immortal. It's not like he has that Lifetime Reward or anything. I'm going to cure him, then. After I get a vampire nooboo or two, of course. Not long after the wedding, Zelda, Zander, Phillip, Roger, and Mia leave to explore the next town. We'll check them out in the next update. For now, I have two makeovers to show you. One is Phillip, and the other is a surprise.
I will admit that his hair colour was his primary appeal. I have no idea where I've seen hair like
that before. *innocent whistle* I can't seem to escape from small eyes, though. Phillip and the Raos have really thin eyes, while Chuck's are just tiny.
This is the one I'm excited for. This is what Zaahira looks like as Young Adult. Her nose is definitely from Chuck, as well as perhaps her mouth. Eyes come from the Raos, as does the hair. Her skin is a pleasant mixture of the two, though leaning closer to Chuck. All in all, she looks great. I'm sure Zara, Chuck, and Zaahira will do fine in Barnacle Bay. I actually have a save file where I keep control of them instead of following the others to Moonlight Falls. I might pop in and show you what they're up to on occasion, or I might just let them live their lives in anonymity. Regardless, the next update will feature Moonlight Falls.
