Invisible Baby?
« on: February 03, 2013, 08:57:19 PM »
I seem to be having trouble with glitches lately...
My sim just had triplets (ahh!) and I'm totally overwhelmed. Not because there are 3 babies, a toddler and a kid in the house, (well, maybe a little) but because the last baby, Beth, is invisible. Both the others took a minute to appear, but Beth just isn't there. Sometimes when I click "view sim" when she's selected, it goes to the crib, there's a little bit of skin-colored stuff that floats up near the ceiling, but that just might just be more glitching. I had her dad try to pick her up, and he just cuddles air... What should I do? Would the reset sim cheat do anything? I've already saved.

Have you tried exiting the game, maybe restarting your computer, and then going in again to see if the problem is still there?  If you haven't tried that, I'd start by doing that first.

Another thing that sometimes helps with glitches is to move your family out and then move them back in.

I tried both those things. Neither worked. I now notice that it's Charlotte who's invisible, not Beth, but Beth has white on one whole arm and her other hand. Aja has the same in black. When I look at their household, half the little picture's black, with a stretch of tan. All I can see is a little bit of Rory and Selma(my originals). This is really ruining my game. Is there anything I can do to set it back? Anything???

All the problems you've been having lately are classic symptoms of a bad piece of CC.  A custom shirt that is accidentally is slotted for younger Sims and shouldn't be.

Thanks! I aged her up, and now she's visible. How can I tell if custom clothes are slotted wrong?

You can't really until you stumble across something suspicious in CAS, or when someone ages up into them.

My best solution is to scour your launcher for any installed content that looks suspect and uninstall it on the spot.

I have no CC, but, I have had some trouble with invisible sims in my latest game,  It is the baby boomer file (three sim  weeks left to play) and is therefore much larger than I usually play  and is now lagging badly.  I've not had babies like this (yet) but one of my children became invisible when caked up.  I sent him straight to the shower and he came out ok.  Perhaps, though I don't know changing the diaper or the outfit might help.  Just a thought.  I have also had a couple of invisible invited visitors too.  Couldn't solve this though.  I tried reseting the invisible sims, but, they remained invisible when I invited them again and were not in their homes when I tried to visit.  The invisible adults were elders and died the next day.
