Deformed Sim - Help
« on: February 02, 2013, 02:36:31 PM »
My sim Oriel aged from a toddler to an adult. She came out all wrong! Her torso and legs weren't connected, her fingers were all stretched out, to being longer than her feet (which were also too large) and she had no head! Or at least she did, but you could only see it when she was eating, and then it came out of her stomach. She was way too tall and large too. I went into change appearance, but she still looked like that! I didn't save... but what should I do? It's all messed up!

I usually have that problem when I have CC installed, and the baby ends up wearing an adult shirt or pants. Do you have CC installed?

What's CC? Is it permanent? If I try again, will it happen the same way?

CC means custom content, which is anything in game not made by EA.

@redmare:

Please do not use all capitals in your Subject line and please use the simple proper spelling of words.  I'll change this one for you, but I would appreciate it if you would be more careful with future posts.

Also, how did you manage to get a toddler to age to adult?  They go through child, teen, and young adult stages first.

CC stands for Custom Content and typically refers to content made by a third party.  It can come from the Sims 3 Exchange or from any number of other independent websites.  For the very reason you experienced, we advise caution when using it.

Sorry.

I didn't mean to write adult, I meant child.

If I play it through again, will the same thing happen? How can I prevent it? How can I change it?

Did you try taking the sim to the mirror/ dresser and using reset sim, that usually works.

You can get rid of the CC via launcher. Just look for the item that is making your toddler look messed up, and click uninstall. And clean out your DCBackup files so it doesn't spread!

Like Pam said, we're not really supposed to recommend or give out third party websites that host third party CC, or include them in our swap shop for that matter. But all I can say is only download from websites you know and trust, and you should look for anything labeled "TS3Workshop" or any other icons that you don't recognize from the EA store, and click "uninstall" through your game.
